I tried to fix the joints of a movable figure: Alligaticon's front legs

Front leg brokenI did it! (LesLeeBoAGAverage impression)

Released by SUPER7ULTIMATES! Alligaticon's front leg is broken.
That's what American toys are like.I thought that it would break on the day it arrived.A little depressedWow...

Base side
Broken side
The axis of the joint has broken off and remains on the female side.
It seems difficult to extract with pliers, so what should I do?

The repair plan for this time is as follows:

1. Removal of the joint axis left behind in the upper arm(?)
2. Removing the joint parts of the forearm(?)
3. Gluing the joint parts
4. Put the joint parts back in place and it's done

Now let's get started!!

Drill a hole in the shaft
First,"1. Removal of the joint axis left behind in the upper arm(?)".

In this state, it is difficult to removeGlue the brass wire and pull it out.I'll go with that.
To attach the brass wire,ピンバイスUse to drill holes.
This timeXNUM X mmI drilled a hole.

A hole opened up
As close to the center as possibleMake sure to drill a hole in it.

Insert the brass wire
Next, I thought I would insert brass wire into this hole...It won't fit!!

Brass wire with an inner diameter of 0.8 mm
If you look closely, you'll see that it's brass wire with an inner diameter of 0.8mm, not an outer diameter!!
When purchasing brass wire, please be sure to check carefully to avoid any mistakes.

Brass wire glued
So, let's get back to it.Insert 0.8mm brass wire!
Use instant glue to adhere the piece, but be careful not to get it on any unwanted areas.

Once the adhesion is complete, dry the area with a hair dryer or similar.Heat it to soften it and pull out the brass wire along with the joint shaft.But...

I couldn't pull it out at all.

Brass wire cut
TentativelyCheck how the forearm is attached. So I cut the brass wire.

Drilling a hole in the forearm joint
Also in the forearm(?) joints0.8mm holeOpen it,

Rod and Reel Combo
set!!

The forearms are nicely attached.
...Isn't this good???

left front leg

right front leg
Compared to the undamaged right sideNo discomfort.

Complete!
JointVertical movement is still aliveBy not gluing the forearm to the brass wire,Horizontal roll is also possible.
Appearance is also fineSo, this is it.Donewill do.

What I had prepared
I was preparing a lot of things for repairs, but oh well!
I'll use this another time (hopefully not again...)!!

Repairing figures is quite easy if you use brass wire!

This time I tried to repair a figure... I managed to do it just by threading some brass wire through it!!
I think it's best not to try to force yourself to follow the plan or to use all the tools you've prepared, but to come to a compromise and finish when it feels right for you.
It would be pointless if it ended up breaking even more.
I don't know if this article will be helpful, but if you have a broken figurine lying around at home, give it a try with the thought that maybe you can fix it.
You'll also grow attached to it.
