GamerFingerArcade controller buttons are now on sale in Japan.
It is also used in gaming keyboards.Mechanical SwitchesIt is an unusual button equipped with "
Before it sells outGamerFingerI was able to get hold of this button, so this time I would like to introduce how to replace it with this button and how easy it is to use.
For basic modification methods, please refer to the previous article on modifying arcade controllers.
GamerFinger buttons used this time
GamerFingerI heard that they started selling buttons,Sengoku DenshoSo I bought about four of them.
There are stickers with yoga-themed illustrations and spinning bird-like illustrations on them.
It's all random.
The seal has been removed.
The cross mark on the mechanical switch is visible.
It is also possible to disassemble it and replace the switch inside.
The ELECOM arcade controller used this time
this time,GamerFingerHere is the ELECOM arcade controller that the buttons are attached to.
The model number isJC-AS01BK.
After looking it up, it appears to be from 2007.
It's from 12 years ago...I have a bad feeling even before opening it.
Disassembly - Opening the back cover
The iron plate cannot stop at two points, so firstRubber feet on the four cornersRemove the parts.
As expected, screws are visible from underneath.
Remove the iron plate at the bottom and check the contents.
I think it weighed about 2kg.
The button is located underneath this plastic piece.
My bad feeling quickly turned into certainty.
Disassembly ~ Internal parts ~
Remove the plastic parts.
There's an unfamiliar hole in the base.
I tried to remove the screws and take off the circuit board...but I couldn't!
The terminal for sending signals to the control board is getting in the way.
I had no choice but to forcefully pull out the button board and check inside.
...The button structure is different to begin with.
The buttons on most common arcade controllers currently on the market are connected to the wiring using Faston terminals, but the buttons on this arcade controller were of the type that sent input signals by having a protrusion on the bottom come into contact with the circuit board.
Check the contents
The structure was unique to ELECOM, so modifying it would require major surgery.
If you want to use it on PS4
- Remove all the parts inside
・Process the arcade controller body
・Transfer parts from other arcade controllers
This requires a major transplant operation.
Moreover, it can be usedmaybeIt is a major surgery with very little certainty.
This time"What happens if you put expensive parts into a cheap arcade controller?I wanted to try it out, but it turned out that it wasn't supported in the first place.
It's a rather pathetic story, but next time I think I'll replace the buttons on the current model.
next time,GamerFingerThe button is on that arcade stick!?
