Akihabara's American Toy and International Figure Store [MCU and American Comics]

Recently, due to the influence of live-action movies such as the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), Japanese manufacturers have been increasingly commercializing American comic book characters, resulting in a large number of well-made figures.
However, if you want a figure of a minor character! Or a toy with a strange gimmick or a weird interpretation of the design!, you'll have to reach for items made overseas.
So, I've put together a list of stores in Akihabara where you can get American toys.

Garimpeiro - Find American toys in Akihabara here

A toy and comic shop located near Arts Chiyoda 3331.
The nearest station is Suehirocho Station, which is a little far from Akihabara Station, but it's worth a visit!

Packed with comic and movie figures and merchandise!
A dreamlike space spreads out before you.

Many of the stores we will introduce below only stock overseas toys that are handled by domestic distributors, but this store handles many items that are imported exclusively by the store, so there are many items that you won't see very often elsewhere.

Uchuusen Radio Kaikan Store -Lots of NECA products

A store inside Radio Kaikan.
In addition to movie and comic items, they also sell merchandise featuring game characters.
The store stocks figures such as Hasbro's Marvel Legends and NECA figures, and is said to have one of the best selections of NECA figures in the Akihabara Station area.

Robot Robot Akihabara Radio Kaikan Store - Not available at AKIBA Culture's Zone Store

A store located inside Radio Kaikan.
The shop window is lined with figures and toys from comics and movies.
It's a good place to stop by if you're looking for older items.

AmiAmi Akihabara Radio Kaikan Store - If you want to buy at a discount

A hobby shop located on the 4th floor of Radio Kaikan.
There is a corner for foreign characters, where figurines and merchandise are lined up.

Yellow Submarine Akihabara Main Store ☆ Mint - Rare items available

The store is located on the 6th floor of Radio Kaikan.
They also carry a small selection of overseas-made figures.
The highlight is that they sometimes sell items that are more than 20 years old.

Volks Akihabara Hobby Heaven - American toys for sale on the 3rd floor

Located just a short walk from Akihabara Station and facing Chuo Dori, Hobby Tengoku is a store with an eye-catching Ichiban Kuji sales counter on the first floor.
There is an American toy corner on the third floor of this building.
In terms of product selection, there seems to be a lot of Marvel Legends and DC.

The American Toy Situation in Akihabara

To be honest, there aren't many American toy shops in Akihabara, and most only carry a small selection of NECA or Marvel Legends, so if you're looking for something else, Garimpeiro is your only choice.
Nonstop, located a short walk from Garimpeiro towards Okachimachi, also has a wide selection, so this area around Okachimachi, rather than Akihabara, can be considered an American toy spot.
The only other option is to steadily search through second-hand toy shops such as Mandarake and Jungle, but I feel like it would be better to go to Nakano for that.

Anyway, if you're looking to buy American toys near Akihabara, get off at Suehirocho Station or Okachimachi Station!!
