Akihabara Coin Lockers 2019 [Size and Price]
Luggage can get in the way whether you're traveling, taking a walk, or shopping, so coin lockers are very convenient for quickly storing your luggage.
We have compiled a list of coin lockers that can be used for storing luggage within a 5-10 minute walk from Akihabara Station.

JR Akihabara Station
There are over 800 coin lockers at JR Akihabara Station.
They are installed both inside and outside the ticket gates, so you can use them according to the situation.
You can also use the coin lockers inside the ticket gates without boarding the train, but you will need to purchase an admission ticket (140 yen).
Please note that IC cards such as Suica, PASMO, and ICOCA cannot be used as admission tickets.
Inside the ticket gate
・Inside the ticket gates, 1st floor

From the Yamanote Line and Keihin-Tohoku Line platforms, go down to the ticket gate floor and turn right
There are approximately 170 of them installed near the central ticket gate.
There are also larger lockers that can fit suitcases, but there are only about 15 of them, so they are rarely available during the day.

・Inside the ticket gates, 2st floor
Go up the escalator from the central ticket gate to the Sobu Line platform
There are approximately 430 of them installed along the walls.
There are even larger lockers available than the large ones on the first floor, so this is recommended if you want to store guitar cases, oversized suitcases, large backpacks, etc.

Outside the ticket gate
・In front of the central ticket gate

There are about 60 of them installed diagonally forward to the right after you exit the ticket gate.
The coin lockers here are almost never empty, especially the larger ones!
Depending on the timing, it may be available, so be sure to check.

・Outside the Electric Town ticket gate

There are about 30 of them installed on the left hand side after exiting the outer ticket gate, next to the Midori ticket counter.
100% occupancy! It's rare to find a space here available either.
It seems like they're all buried, regardless of size.

・Outside the Showa-dori ticket gate

There are approximately 120 of them installed after you exit the ticket gate and turn right towards the outdoors.
Most of the lockers are small, and there is only one extra-large locker, so it is not suitable for people with large luggage.
It's a relatively hidden gem around the station.

・Akihabara Tolim 1st floor

There are about 25 of them installed behind the escalator that leads to the second floor of Akihabara Tolim, on the right side after exiting the central ticket gate.
There are lockers available for 300 yen, which is rare around the station.

Tokyo Metro Akihabara Station
There are two coin lockers at Tokyo Metro Akihabara Station.
Both are located outside the ticket gates, but please note that the available hours are slightly shorter than those of JR.
・JR Akihabara Station ticket gate

There are about 13 of them located directly in front of the ticket gate, near Exit 3.
There are relatively many medium-sized items here.

・Iwamotocho ticket gate

After exiting the ticket gate, go straight ahead towards Exit 3 and you will find approximately 25m, near the photo booth, where there are approximately 72 machines.
This is a cash-only facility, so please make sure you have coins before using it.
It is also only available in small sizes, so it is recommended for people who do not have much luggage.

Tsukuba Express Akihabara Station
This is definitely the best-kept secret around the station.
You have to go deep underground and walk a little bit depending on the exit, but it's pretty empty.

If you want to use these coin lockers, there are three entrances from the ground.
We recommend Exit A3 (towards Kanda Myojin Street), which is the entrance next to Yodobashi Camera. If you get off here, you won't have to walk too much underground.
There are approximately 55 of them located on the right hand side after exiting the ticket gate, opposite the commuter pass counter.

1. Opposite the Seven-Eleven Showa-dori store

It is located straight across the traffic lights after exiting the Showa-dori ticket gate at Akihabara Station.

2. Parking lot next to Animate Akihabara Main Building

3 minutes walk from Akihabara Station Electric Town ticket gate
It is located in a parking lot along Tashiro Street (UDX side).

3. Next to Liberty Akihabara Building No. 5

5 minutes walk from Akihabara Station Electric Town ticket gate
It is located next to a vending machine in the alley between Liberty Buildings 5 and 4.

4. Mitsuwa Denki

Right next to the Akihabara Electric Town ticket gate
It is located under the Sobu Line overpass, opposite the Adores Akihabara store.
It's close to the station, but it's often empty, and it has a currency exchange machine, so you don't have to worry if you don't have coins.
However, please note that there are set usage times.

It is located behind AniON STATION, and there are coin lockers on both sides of the building entrance.
Please note that the available time is by far the shortest.

7. Sotokanda Bike Times

It is located across from Doutor Coffee Sotokanda 1-chome branch.
