August was a month of uproar, with the closure of Sega Akihabara Building 2, which had been in business for 17 years (including Akihabara GiGO), and the closure of Tsukumo Akihabara Ekimae Store, which had been open for just eight months.

November was the month with the most store closures in the second half of 2020.
It was surprising to see a long-established maid cafe in Akihabara that had been in business for 14 years close down, and two cheese tart specialty stores that were so popular that people would line up to get in also close down at the same time.

Akihabara is a place with a fast turnover, but in 2020, the effects of COVID-19 led to even more store closures.
The big topics in the second half of the year were the closures of Tsukumo Akihabara Ekimae Store, Sega Akihabara Building 2, and Adore's Akihabara Store.
Tsukumo Akihabara Station Store closed just six months after its grand opening in front of Akihabara Station.
"Sega Akihabara Building 2" and "Adoa's Akihabara Store" were landmark stores in Akihabara.
Also, the "free information center" that was built on the site of the former "Kitchen Jiro Sotokanda store," which closed in September, has been attracting attention... How will Akihabara change after the COVID-9 pandemic?
