[August 2021] Akihabara store closings

The extended state of emergency was lifted on March 21st.
March is a month when the weather gets warmer all over Japan, cherry blossoms bloom, and more people are out and about.
This time, we've compiled a list of stores in Akihabara that have closed.

Kurikoan Akihabara store

Closing date: Sunday, March 14, 2021?

A taiyaki shop that was famous for its "Koiking Yaki".
The store announced its closure but never reopened and closed down.
By the way, there are currently five stores that sell Magikarp Yaki: Kichijoji store, Machida store, Yokohama West Exit store, Minato Mirai store, and Yokosuka Chuo store.

ワルツ

Opening date: November 19, 2010
Closing date: March 20, 2021

A shoe shine shop located on the second floor of Atre Akihabara 1.
Apparently he was well known for his shoe polishing that did not use wax.
In addition to shining shoes, he also did repairs.

Hobbyland Pochi Akihabara 3rd store

Opening date: Saturday, November 1, 2015
Closing date: Sunday, June 28, 2021

Hobbyland Pochi, located across from Yoshirin Park, has closed.
The first and second stores in Akihabara will continue to operate.

Segafredo Zanetti Espresso Suehirocho Branch

Closing date: Monday, December 29, 2021

A cafe chain originating from Italy, the home of espresso.
That's why they have a deep commitment to coffee, and they also serve churros and paninis, which are common breakfast foods for Italians.
It's a shame because it was a convenient meeting place near Suehirocho Station.

Matsuraku

Opening date: 1933
Closing date: Wednesday, March 31, 2021

A long-established ramen restaurant founded in 1933.
The popular menu item is wonton noodles.
The noodle dish with peanut cream was also recommended.
Due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the event came to an end after approximately 80 years of history.

Ikinari Steak Akihabara Manseibashi Branch

Opening date: Thursday, March 30, 2014
Closing date: Wednesday, May 31, 2021

A stand-up style steak restaurant.
The Akihabara Manseibashi store, which has been closed since January due to the state of emergency declaration, has announced its closure on its website.
From now on, I'll be using the nearby stores, Suehirocho Branch and Ogawamachi Branch.

Nomono Kitchen Akihabara

Opening date: Friday, June 7, 2014
Closing date: Wednesday, May 31, 2021

"Nomono" is a specialty goods shop located near the central exit inside Akihabara Station.
The restaurant on the second floor, "Nomono Kitchen," has closed.
The first floor remains open.

Akihabara is seeing restaurants and other businesses closing one after another, and signs advertising new tenants are becoming more and more prevalent.
The state of emergency was lifted in late March, spring break began, and the area is beginning to regain its vitality.
However, with more people going out, the risk of infection is also higher, so it is not something we can be happy about.We can only hope that we can return to our previous peaceful state as soon as possible.
