[August 2021] Akihabara store closings
June is finally here and summer is here.
Vaccinations are now being administered to people other than the elderly, so perhaps the coronavirus pandemic is beginning to improve.
Although the number of people is increasing, it is still far from the explosive increase in tourists that was originally expected during the Olympics.
This time, we've compiled a list of stores in Akihabara that have closed.

Opening date: Friday, June 20, 2015
Closing date: Wednesday, May 30, 2021
Akihabara 2nd store sold prizes related to anime and works aimed at women.
The closure is due to "various circumstances," and the exact reason for the closure has not been revealed.
In October of last year, the neighboring "Adoa's Akihabara store" closed, marking Adoa's complete withdrawal from Akihabara.

ANION STATION AKIHABARA Main Store

Opening date: Saturday, November 16, 2016
Closing date: Sunday, June 20, 2021
A cafe and bar that has collaborated with various works.
There must have been some serious fans who collected the request tickets that came with the drinks and food.
In February, the adjacent Lantis Station AKIHABARA closed, and this too closed after its collaboration with iM@S.

Access Ticket Akihabara Store
Closing date: Sunday, June 27, 2021

A gift certificate shop located on the first floor of the Don Quijote Akihabara store.
It is said that it will move to "next to Radio Kaikan" on July 5th, but the exact location is unknown.
The former Pablo site is a likely candidate.
World Mobile Akihabara store
Relocation and closure date: Wednesday, June 30, 2021
The Geo-affiliated store "World Mobile Akihabara Store" located in Sotokanda 1-chome has closed and been relocated and merged into "Geo Mobile Akihabara Store" in front of JR Akihabara Station.
After the relocation, the store began operating in July on the 3rd and 4th floors of the building that houses the Geo Mobile Akihabara store.
The store sells the same items as the previous store, including used smartphones and used game consoles.
Starbucks Coffee JR Akihabara Station Ladder Store

Opening date: Friday, June 14, 2017
Closing date: Wednesday, May 30, 2021
The JR Akihabara Station Platform Store was located inside Akihabara Station, near the platform for the Sobu Line heading up.
This store is said to be the first Starbucks Coffee store to be located inside the ticket gates of a JR East station.
There are two other Starbucks stores in Akihabara: Atre Akihabara 1 and Akihabara Ekimae.

TOKKA Bazaar Main Store (Integrated)
Closing date: Wednesday, May 30, 2021
TOKKA Bazaar Main Store, which sold digital accessories and bulk items, will close at the end of June.
It was merged with the second store on Junk Street, located nearby.

The last Adores store in Akihabara has finally closed
Akihabara is seeing a series of amusement stores close due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Following the closure of "Adoa's Akihabara Store" and "Karaoke Adoa's Akihabara Store" in 2020, "Adoa's Akihabara 2nd Store" has also closed, meaning that Adoa's is no longer in Akihabara.
In addition, AniON STATION AKIHABARA Main Store will also be closing.
This is a collaboration cafe modeled after the anime song clubs that were gaining popularity at the time, and I'm sure many people visited it when collaborations were made with their favorite content.
It's a shame that a playground like this is no longer around.
