[August 2022] Akihabara store closings

Summer vacation is over, but September is likely a month in which many people went on sightseeing trips during Silver Week.
I looked into the stores that closed in Akihabara this month.

Akihabara stores closing in March 2022 (in chronological order)

THE ROSE&CROWN Akihabara store

Opening date: July 2005
Closing date: July 14, 2022

A pub inside BiTO AKIBA PLAZA.
It is scheduled to reopen as THE RC ARMS Akihabara store in October.

Charcoal Grilled Kabagin Suehirocho Main Branch

Opening date: June 19, 2020
Closing date: July 19, 2022

A pork bowl restaurant near Suehirocho Station.
In 2020, the steak restaurant Dante Akihabara main store changed its business model and became this restaurant.

Opening date: 1981
Closing date: July 24, 2022

A pasta restaurant along Shoheibashi Street.
Closed due to demolition due to deterioration of the building.

Blueberry, a pasta restaurant near Yoshirin Park, closed on September 24th.
The dilapidated building will be demolished, which will change the appearance of the final destination of Minalinsky's escape route in the anime "Love Live!".

Akihabara Pasta Restaurants: Many Popular and Large Portions! Lunch is Decided!

GiGO Akihabara Building 4

Opening date: July 2010
Closing date: July 25, 2022

GiGO in front of Akihabara Station.
After opening as the Sega Akihabara store in 2010, the store name was changed to Sega Akihabara Building 4 and GiGO Akihabara Building 4.
There are only three arcades remaining in Akihabara that are part of the Sega tradition.

Ramen Hiro

Opening date: June 8, 2015
Closing date: July 27, 2022

A ramen restaurant near Showa-dori.
They served Hiroshima ramen, dry dandan noodles, and more.

Regild Akihabara store

Opening date: June 6, 2018
Closing date: July 30, 2022

A mobile and PC accessories shop on Junk Street.
The smartphone pendulum that counts steps for apps became a hot topic when it was first introduced.

Tengu Sakaba Akihabara Showa Dori Exit

Closing date: July 30, 2022
An izakaya located in the basement of Curry Shop C&C along Showa-dori.
The Akihabara Central Exit branch of the same chain, Shunsen Sakaba Tengu, remains open.

GiGO Akihabara Building 4 closes!

GiGO Akihabara Building 4, located in a highly visible location just outside the Electric Town exit of Akihabara Station, closed this month.
The store had been in business for over 10 years, dating back to its predecessor, Sega, and had become one of the symbols of Akihabara Station, so its closure came as a huge shock, with many people visiting on its final day of business to bid it farewell.

Additionally, Blueberry, a pasta restaurant that had been in business for over 40 years, closed.
The demolition of the dilapidated building is likely to change the scenery along Shoheibashi Street.
