[August 2023] Akihabara store closings

Entering 2023!!
Akihabara is bustling with tourists as the year-end and New Year holidays approach, but several stores have closed this month.
Many tenants are closing due to renovations at commercial facilities, so let's look forward to new stores.

Yurindo Yodobashi Akiba store

Opening date: Friday, September 16, 2005
Closing date: Monday, May 9, 2023

This bookstore has been a tenant at Yodobashi Akiba since it first opened.
It was renovated in 2016 and housed the "STORY CAFE," but this also closed in December 2022.

Tower Records Akihabara Store

Opening date: Friday, September 16, 2005
Closing date: Monday, May 9, 2023

A CD shop on the 7th floor of Yodobashi Akiba.
It opened in 2005 and was renovated in 2013 and 2016.

ikka LOUNGE Yodobashi Akiba store

Opening date: Saturday, November 12, 2016
Closing date: Thursday, June 12, 2023

An apparel shop on the 7th floor of Yodobashi.
The store will be temporarily closed for floor renovations and is scheduled to reopen in March.

Hokkaido Ramen Himuro Akihabara 2nd store

A ramen restaurant near the Showa-dori exit of Akihabara Station.
The main dish served was Sapporo miso ramen.
The first Akihabara store, located on Junk Street, has been renovated as "Chicken Soba/Tai Soba Kyosuke Akihabara Store" and continues to operate.

iCity Yodobashi Akiba store

A contact lens store located inside Yodobashi Akiba.
Closed for renovations.
In February, it moved to become iCity Atre Akihabara 1 store.

JINS Yodobashi Akiba store (closed)

An eyeglasses store located inside Yodobashi Akiba.
The store will be temporarily closed for renovations and is scheduled to reopen in March.
The Atre 1 store remains open.

Notium Akihabara Yodobashi Store

This store opened on the 7th floor of Yodobashi Akiba during the floor renovation in 2016.
In addition to bags and purses, they also sold miscellaneous goods.

A branch of an anime apparel goods shop.
It was originally a temporary store and closed when the contract expired.
The COSPA/2D COSPA G-Store Akihabara store above Onoden is open, so you can use that.

American diner in Akihabara Atre 2.
It has been a tenant since the Atrevi era of the building, and offered an all-you-can-eat hamburger restaurant.

It was a Showa-era style restaurant that offered lunch at reasonable prices.

Several Yodobashi Akiba tenants close

Following last month's closure, several tenants on the 7th floor of Yodobashi Akiba, which is scheduled to be renovated soon, have closed.
Tenants that were with Yodobashi Akiba when it first opened, such as Yurindo and Tower Records, have also closed, so the floor is likely to undergo a major renovation.

Additionally, several stores have closed at Marché Éclat and Akihabara Atre, so things are likely to change.
