3 Akihabara Model Shops Where You Can Buy New & Used Motorcycle and Car Plastic Models

You know there are many stores selling plastic models in Akihabara, but aren't most of them Gundam models?
That's not true! Akihabara has many stores that have a wide selection of kits other than character kits.
This time, I would like to introduce some stores that sell plastic models of motorcycles and cars.

3 Shops in Akihabara that Sell Plastic Motorcycle and Car Models

Surugaya Akihabara Plastic Model Shop - A real store of a famous online shop

First up is Surugaya Akihabara Plastic Model Hall, a store located along Akihabara Chuo Dori.
Surugaya is a famous online shop that sells hobbies, but starting with the opening of the "Suruga-ya Akihabara Store Anime & Hobby Hall" and "Suruga-ya Akihabara Store Game Hall" in 2016, many brick-and-mortar stores have expanded into Akihabara.
Within Surugaya, the store that specializes in plastic models is the Surugaya Akihabara Plastic Model Hall.
There is a staircase a little ways back from the entrance of the building, and Gundam models are on the second floor, and motorcycle plastic models are on the third floor.

There were a lot of vintage motorcycle plastic models, and a wide selection of both new and used items.
Manufacturers include Tamiya, Aoshima, Fujimi, and others.

I fell in love with the cute Fujimi Monkey police motorcycle kit at first sight!

Hobby Shop Tam Tam Akihabara Branch - A large hobby shop in front of Suehirocho Station

Hobby Shop Tam Tam Akihabara is located on the 4th and 5th floors of a building near Suehirocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.
This shop sells plastic models, various hobby tools, model trains, miniature cars, radio-controlled cars, air guns, etc.
The motorcycle plastic models were on the 4th floor.

I think this store had the largest selection of all the stores I visited.

Other stores tended to stock mostly classic motorcycle kits, but they also had a lot of fairly new models and even plastic models of current models!
With this, you should be able to find a kit that suits your taste.

Leonardo ET - Many used kits

"Leonardo ET" is a store that mainly deals in used plastic models.
There are several stores named Leonardo in Akihabara, but the one closest to Okachimachi is "Leonardo ET."
Of all the stores we visited this time, this one was the farthest from Akihabara Station, so it was a little difficult to find.

There were many second-hand items, including plastic models of rare vehicles such as the black panther shown on the left.

There are many other stores in Akihabara that sell plastic motorcycle models.

We have introduced three stores above, and we were able to find a wide variety of motorcycle plastic models, from kits of current vehicles to kits of classic models.
When I think of Akihabara, I imagine it being a place with lots of Gundam models and plastic models of anime characters, but after touring the stores this time, I changed my mind and found that there are many stores that are also strong in scale models, including motorcycles.
