The only pet shop in Akihabara is Coo&RIKU Akihabara.
It is a major company in the pet industry with over 150 stores nationwide.
In some cases, you may be able to purchase a puppy or kitten for less than you would pay from a breeder!

They also take care of a wide variety of dogs and cats (apparently about 9000).
You may come across some rare specimens at pet shops.
(I actually saw a pit bull at Coo&RIKU, which you probably won't see in a pet shop.)
