I went around Akihabara's major electronics retailers and game shops.

As you'd expect, there were no copies available for sale on the day in Akihabara either.
Even though they said they wouldn't be holding any events, they did a projection mapping at Kanda Myojin Shrine the day before, so there was absolutely no chance of them selling anything on the day.

Used PS5 purchase status in Akihabara

Even before its release, the PS5 has been a problem due to high-priced resales on online shopping sites and flea market apps, but how are second-hand consoles being purchased at Akihabara stores?
I went around to major stores that buy games, but I couldn't find many that had posted the purchase price for the PS5. Well, with all the fuss going on, if they were to advertise a high purchase price, it could spark an uproar online, and since they're dealing in new products, there are probably compliance reasons why they can't openly offer high prices.

So, I've introduced you to the state of Akihabara, but have you all been able to buy a PS5? I bet everything on the Sony Store, but it was a complete failure. I'm writing this post sulking. This time, there were no in-store sales, so I didn't witness any PS5s being stuffed into Hiace vans, so I wasn't stressed about that, but there were a lot of high-priced resales online...it's still tough.

However, since it's not a limited edition product, it will no doubt become easier to obtain once the heat dies down. Be careful not to buy malicious resellers.
