[Razer] Modified gaming mouse buttons to make them quieter [wireless]

I had finally discovered the greatness of wireless gaming mice, but suddenly the wireless environment disappeared (my own fault).
The wonderful cordless feel, ease of use, and hassle-free gaming experience...
Already "I can't imagine a gaming environment without a wireless mouse!I found myself in a state of shock, and with a 10,000 yen bill in my hand, I headed straight to Tsukumo in Akihabara.
Yes...I was looking for a wireless gaming mouse.
There were many candidates, but I decided to go with the same Razer mouse, and also the same Basilisk series.Razer Basilisk UltimateI purchased.

Yes, here we go again...
In order to have a comfortable gaming experience, I can't help but be concerned about various devices.
So this time I would like to review the Razer Basilisk Ultimate.

Razer Basilisk Ultimate [Unboxing]

Commonly used sites
・What is a gaming mouse?
・What are wired and wireless?
・Recommended manufacturers
I won't write such long sentences! I opened it within 3 seconds of meeting it!
Let's start with the outer box!

It's the usual Razer box that exudes luxury and elegance.
Black + green is a familiar, stylistic aesthetic, and that's what Razer should be like!

Of course, the new design allows it to be opened without the need for cutters or scissors.
This time I wasn't able to cut along the dotted line properly, but the adhesive on the sticker wasn't that strong and it peeled off cleanly.

The box opens sideways using a magnetic system.
This is an executive and luxurious feature that is not available in cheaper versions.
The box itself exudes an Ultimate feel.
First up is the dock and the mouse itself.

And other included items
・Micro USB cable (cloth)
Replacement clutch button (thumb shift?)
·manual
・Razer sticker
*CHROMA sticker + Prism logo sticker

Razer Basilisk Ultimate [Appearance]

Next, let's enjoy the beauty of the Razer Basilisk Ultimate itself.
For reference, let's compare it with the Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed, which we introduced in a previous article, to see the differences.
Both have the same shape as the Basilisk V2.
The first Basilisk also exists.
・Razer Basilisk Ultimate
・Razer Basilisk V2 (wired)
・Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed
Let's call these three models the V2 series.

Around the buttons.
LeftUltimate supports tilt + 2 DPI switching buttons + lightingIt has become.
This is the same specification as the wired type V2.
The HyperSpeed mouse on the right has a simplified configuration and is relatively inexpensive among Razer's mice.
Is there a target audience in mind?

side.
It may depend on how the light hits it, but the texture appears to be different.
In fact, the Ultimate feels slightly smoother to the touch.
I didn't notice any difference in height. They're probably about the same height.

Opposite side.
The shape is the same, and the material of the anti-slip rubber seems to be the same.

Bottom.
The HyperSpeed is a little dirty because I peeled off the sole when I modified it.
The sole materials seem to be different between Ultimate and HyperSpeed.
Not only the color, but also the feelTeflon soleIt seems that...

Other differences:
Since HyperSpeed is battery-powered, the main body can be opened to insert the batteries.
Since the Ultimate is rechargeable, it does not have such a mechanism.

Razer Basilisk Ultimate Charging Dock

Next, I'd like to introduce the charging dock (which also serves as a receiver).
The charging dock has a USB port where you can attach the mouse receiver.

This reduces the distance between the mouse and the receiver, eliminating connection problems.
Also, by charging using the dock, you don't have to plug the USB cable into the mouse itself every time, which saves you the trouble.
It's well thought out.

It's very easy to use.
Once you have set up the receiver, simply connect the included MicroUSB to the dock and then connect it to your PC.
This allows it to be used as both a receiver and a charging dock.

Align the metal part of the mouse with the metal part of the dock.
It won't slip off and snaps into place nicely!

Razer Basilisk Ultimate [Clutch Button]

The Razer Basilisk uses a clutch button on all models except the HyperSpeed model.
Positioned as the third side button, it is set by default to "reduce mouse sensitivity only while pressed."
To use this you must have a clutch button set on your mouse.
It's the small part in this plastic bag.
If you don't put this on right away after opening it, you'll lose it...

Remove the rubber cover on the main body...

Insert firmly all the way in.
Magnet systemThis means that it won't come off easily and is very easy to attach and remove.

As explained above, when used normally, this clutch shift is set to reduce its sensitivity only while it is being pressed.
However, if you use SYNAPSE3, which will be described later,
-You can set your favorite button as the clutch button
・Combinations such as Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are also possible
-While pressing the clutch shift, you can do the same thing as the shift key on the keyboard.
For example,
Clutch + Right Click to R key (reload in FPS games)
Clutch + up/down scroll to scroll left/right (useful in Excel)
So, how you use it is up to you!!
*However, be careful as the clutch + side button is difficult to press!

Razer SYNAPSE3

Finally, connect it to the Razer SYNAPSE3 and activate it.
At first, I tried to get SYNAPSE3 to recognize the receiver while it was inserted into the dock, but it didn't work.
It seems that you probably need to connect it via cable first and then have it recognized.
First, connect the cable inserted into the dock to the main unit.

I was able to recognize it clearly.
Once recognized, the dock can be used in wireless mode.
By the way, the dock can also be controlled with SYNAPSE3.

I have already explained the general usage in a previous article, so I will not go into detail here, but there are a huge number of settings to choose from.

Here is the default state

You can add various functions to all the buttons.
Of course, you can also set key assignments from here.

Lighting brightness and power saving mode settings.

It also supports Razer Chroma, so you can synchronize colors with other Razer Chroma-compatible devices.

Razer Basilisk Ultimate [Summary]

I've only been using it for about a week since I bought it, but I feel the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is a great product.
My impressions after using the Razer Basilisk UltimateBenefitas
・Lightweight. Your arms won't get tired.
-Various clutch shift functions
・The Dock is incredibly convenient (vocabulary)
Free yourself from the hassle of cables
・Above all, it fits the purpose I was looking for
I've been praising it quite a bit, but of courseThere are also disadvantages
・It's expensive (around 17000 yen)
Too light for some people
Charging takes more effort than battery-powered devices
*Battery consumption may increase or decrease depending on how you use it.
That's about it.

Similar shape, similar number of buttonsG502That was an option, but since it doesn't support dock charging, it would be a hassle to have to unplug and plug in the cable every time I wanted to charge.
However, on the other hand, the ability to adjust the weight, which the Razer Basilisk Ultimate doesn't offer, is a bit of a trade-off...

There are still some parts that I haven't been able to fully explain, but I would like to write another review after using it for a while.
