C102 2023 Summer Comic Market Cosplayer Summary

2023 October.
The summer Comiket season has arrived again this year.
Akihabara Base Camp will be introducing cosplayers along with reporting on the Summer Comiket events.

Of course there will be one this time too!!
They are all wonderful people, so if you're interested, check out their social media.

C102 from the perspective of a cosplay photographer

Due to the impact of COVID-19, tickets are now required even for general participation in Comiket.
Early admission starts at 10:30, and afternoon admission (including same-day tickets) starts at 13:00.
Up until C101, it didn't seem that crowded, but the number of admission slots increased at C102.
Quite a lot of people were participating in Comiket.

Since admission is divided into sections, early bird visitors can stroll around the venue comfortably.
The staff were very strict in directing people, so the circle area was fairly calm and you could shop.


However, the queues for popular clubs are incredible, with lines stretching all the way to the outside.

The cosplay area has also undergone some changes.

The cosplay areas this time were East Halls 7 and 8, the rooftop area, and South Hall 1.
The garden area was not in use this time, but considering the sunlight on the day...

By the way, the rooftop area was amazing.

Visit the rooftop cosplay area

There were a lot of restrictions on movement, so I had to go through the west area to get to the roof, which was pretty crazy.
It was hot, I couldn't move forward, and my elbows were sticking together...it was just like Comiket.

...It would be easier to take photos if there was plenty of natural light, but the sheer number of people and the heat meant we had to retreat indoors.

Cosplayers who can't resist the heat

This summer has been extremely hot, but cosplayers have not given in to the heat and have shown off some amazing cosplay.
There are many different kinds of works out there, but this outfit was one that evoked love.
