C104 Report on the 2024 Summer Comiket

Akihabara BC

In the summer of 2024, the world will be in the mood for the Paris Olympics, a global sports festival held every four years... but in Japan, Comiket, also known as the Otaku Olympics, will be held twice a year from August 11th to 12th!
I attended the first day of C104 this time, so I'd like to share with you what Comiket was like.

I went to Comic Market 104

C104 Before the opening

C104 Before the opening
Near Tokyo Big Sight.
In the queue to enter, the Comiket warriors had a very hard time due to the heat and glare from the concrete ground as they waited until the doors opened at 10:30.
I also feel like the number of men using parasols is increasing, perhaps as a way to prevent heatstroke.

C104 Venue

Scene from C104 venue
Near the HoYoverse booth, famous for games like "Houkai Gakuen" and "Genshin Impact."
The east and west buildings, as well as the south building, were very busy.

Taimanin booth.

At the Taimanin booth, Japan's pride and joy, the Taimanin Ondo was playing, which was more powerful than the previous Comiket.

On the other hand, the FANZA Doujin booth was based on the concept of a festival, and featured a giveaway campaign for original goods sets and an online stall, giving both companies a taste of the summer atmosphere.

What in hell is bad?

The booth for What in Hell is Bad, an adult game app for women.
It seems to be a bit more visually erotic than the FANZA Doujin booth and Taimanin booth next door.

Love Live! Series/Link! Like! Love Live!

At the Love Live! Series/Link! Like! Love Live! booth, there will be exhibits and

Love Live! Series/Link! Like! Love Live! DJA DJ booth will also be available!
By the way, speaking out loud is prohibited, so be careful if you want to make noise.

Love Live Novelty

A line to receive free Love Live novelty items.
I think it was the company booth with the longest line of people at this event, with people lining up around the outside.

IRIAM booth

At the IRIAM booth, you can experience the cool breeze with the concept of full-power cooling.

IRIAM booth

It was cool inside, but I passed through in an instant, so if I wanted to cool down, I would have had to line up again more times...

Water was also provided free of charge.

C102 Comiket was really hot! Don't forget to take precautions against heatstroke!

This year's Comiket was a huge success, with attendance at the same level as last year or slightly higher.
Moreover, the number of participants from overseas seems to be increasing significantly...
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the highest temperature on August 11th was 37 degrees Celsius, and the direct sunlight and temperature were extremely severe, with more people suffering from heatstroke than last year.
There will be many people who are visiting Comiket for the first time or for the first time, but please take proper precautions against heatstroke. (Of course, even if you attend every year, you should take more precautions than ever before.)
