Have you all gone to see it yet? I haven't yet.
Perhaps some of you have become excited about anime movies, thinking, "Anime movies are so fun! I want to watch more!"
This time, I will introduce some movies that I recommend(?) for such people, without giving away any spoilers.
*Please note that when I say "generic Makoto Shinkai" here, I am referring to anime films whose promotion was clearly "that," regardless of the content.

打ち上げ花火、下から見るか?横から見るか?

An animated version of the well-known popular drama.
Toho, which had released the hit "Your Name" the previous year, distributed this film the following year, so promotions were similar to that. The animation was produced by Shaft, the general director was Shinbo Akiyuki, and the character design was by Watanabe Akio, so they were "relying on" the lineup, but the content was...
Regardless of whether you like the artwork or not, there's no denying that the visuals are inferior to "Your Name," and the plot is compact, giving the impression of a rich TV special.
Couldn't they have done a better job with the CG for the fireworks at the climax?
The theme song "Uchiage Hanabi" by DAOKO and Kenshi Yonezu was a hit and has joined the ranks of "This was an anime song!"
Even if the world ends tomorrow

A full CG animated film distributed by Shochiku.
The main visual, featuring a young man and woman and a detailed background, was clearly designed with that in mind.
The opening scene unfolds in a youthful style, but Furuya Toru's narration suddenly changes the story, explaining the worldview in a way that "something about a parallel world that was researched during World War II" - it's sure to be a shocking read, and a must-see!!
Another interesting point is the extremely outrageous strategies that the enemy boss carries out with a smug look on his face.
There was nothing particularly picturesque to see.
HELLO WORLD

A full CG animated film distributed by Toho.
The poster with a boy meets girl feel and a big background is, ah, yes.
This sci-fi anime is directed by Ito Tomohiko (Occult Academy) and written by Nozaki Madoka (Fantasista Doll Eve), and is a story that feels like it's set in a parallel world.
There are a lot of parallel worlds in these kinds of promoted anime movies!!
I recommend the spin-off comic by Inukai Rippo.

Exit of the tunnel to summer

An animated film distributed by Pony Canyon.
A story about a tunnel where time moves at a different pace than outside.
That said, it's completely different from Shyamalan's "Old," so you can rest assured(?).
A couple is formed between a woman in her 30s and a high school boy, so it's a must-see for anyone who likes that kind of thing.
To all the lads I've loved / To the one me who loved you

This shocking two-version film is...another parallel world!!
Speaking of movies that use the version marketing technique, "Pokémon Best Wishes the Movie: Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom/White Hero: Reshiram" comes to mind, but don't worry, the content of these films is completely different.
The advertising slogan states that "the ending changes depending on the order in which you watch the films," so (if you're going to watch them) it would be better to watch "To Myself, the Only One Who Loved You" first.
Not only is it easier to understand the story if you watch them in this order, but while neither film can be described as visually rich as a theatrical animated film, "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" is visually better.
I watched "Boku Ai" first, and when I saw the reused footage from the other film that appeared in the second half, I thought, "So something even worse than this awaits me...this is going to be tough."
I understand the difficulty of releasing two films with linked plots, each from a different studio, at the same time, but that doesn't matter to the audience. Keep in mind that two films with a runtime of about 100 minutes each total three and a half hours, which means the total cost for both films without any discounts is nearly 4000 yen.
Let's watch a movie at the theater!
We have introduced Makoto Shinkai's animated films with film-like promotions.
I think there will be more films like this in the future.
It's fine to hear what people think of it and then watch it online, but there's something special about going to the theater, paying a fair bit of money, and experiencing the ups and downs of the movie's content.
Let's go to the cinema alone or with others!
