Akihabara Gunpla Exhibition "Gunpla Like! 2024 Summer" to be held
AKIBA Cultures Zone is holding the Gunpla exhibition "Gunpla Like! 2024 Summer" from July 14th to 28th, 2024.
This year too, individual works will be exhibited in the general and themed categories, and there will also be group exhibitions by model spaces and model clubs in Tokyo.
In addition, as a collaborative project, a joint event with the Yoshimoto Plastic Model Club is also being held.
We will be sending you an event report on the Gunpla exhibition, Gunpla Like!
Gunpla Like! will be held in the summer of 2024

A Gunpla exhibition will be held on the 4th floor of AKIBA Cultures ZONE from July 14th to 28th, 2024.
This time, the general section will not only exhibit Gunpla, but also plastic models in general.
The thematic categories are "Diorama" and "Large Aircraft Works."
A Gunpla workshop will also be held.
This is a side event that anyone can participate in, from beginners who have never built a Gunpla before to families with children.

General Category Works
From here on, we will be showcasing selected works from the general category.
The works range from those made by beginners and those with little experience to hardcore modelers.
・Destiny Gundam
Destiny created on a Forbidden base.
You can see traces of Forbidden in places.

・Rising Freedom
Perhaps due to the influence of the theatrical release, I got the impression that there was a lot of anticipation for SEED-related works at this exhibition.
This is a slightly lighter color than the original, but this is how it looks outside the atmosphere.

・Bound Dog
More decals, more details, more textures
This is a solid build of the popular Bound Dog kit. It's amazing.

・Shiori Fujisaki & Miharu Tatebayashi
This work was made using Biplabase to celebrate Tokimemo's 30th anniversary.
The clothes are also handmade, and the legendary tree is based on the original.

Theme Category (Diorama/Large Works)
Now, let's take a look at the works from the theme category.
The theme this time is "Diorama" and "Large Aircraft Works."
・08 Platoon
It's a static diorama that evokes a scene rather than a stiff pose.
When you take a close-up photo of the entire diorama, it looks incredibly realistic.

・Zaku II Custom
A diorama of cherry blossoms and Zaku II Kai.
Al is sitting on the left hand of the Zaku II Custom.

・Gundam & Gouf
This is a large aircraft work.
Although it is a large aircraft work, it is a diorama piece, and its level of completion and impact are outstanding.
The piece makes extensive use of electric lights.

Nightingale
Nightingale with full hatch opening.
For parts that are not included in the kit, I create them using plastic sheets, etc.
Boys love full hatch openings.

・Mega Size Gundam
This is the piece I created for Gunpla Like!
It's been completely painted to remove the plasticky toy feel, but I think it has a nice crisp finish.

Circle Space Exhibition
There is also an exhibition space for models from all over Tokyo and model clubs.
・Busou Shinki Discord Server
This is a model club that mainly produces Busou Shinki models.
The instructor for this Gunpla workshop will be the representative from this company.

・CRAFTNEST
A model space in Yoyogi Uehara will also be participating.
There are also Gunpla models with an alcohol motif on display.

・CŌVACO ModelingWorkSpace
A diorama pushing back something like Axis.
There are a number of works installed in a complex way.

・Myojinshita Curm Factory
Participants also came from the model space in Akihabara.
Myojinshita Curum Factory is creating a 1/144 scale Strike model.

Yoshimoto Plastic Model Club also participates
This time, the Yoshimoto Plastic Model Club participated in Gunpla Like!
In addition to the works of club members, collaborative projects are also being held.

A quiz was also held to guess which of the Sazabi created by the club members Haranishi would choose.

Those who answer correctly will be entered into a lottery to win a luxurious prize.
The announcement was also made on the Yoshimoto Plastic Model Club's YouTube channel.
Gunpla workshop also held at the same time
A Gunpla workshop will also be held.
The instructor will teach you how to create effects using resin, as well as how to create grooves and make things look dirty.
This workshop is open to everyone, from beginners to families with children.
Please note that participation in the workshop requires prior registration.
