IEKEI TOKYO will open in Suehirocho on July 20, 2021!

A ramen shop directly descended from Oudouya has opened in Akihabara!

Originating in Kashiwa City, Chiba PrefectureOudouka GroupDirect ramen shop of"IEKEI TOKYO"opened on July 20, 2021.
The Oudouya Group is a family ramen restaurant chain with a yellow sign as its trademark, with stores mainly in Chiba Prefecture, but also in Ibaraki Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, and other areas.
The thick, punchy ramen that is unique to Iekei ramen is popular among local young people, and it is said to have been called one of the four great Iekei ramen restaurants.
I myself spent my youth in Kashiwa City and was completely captivated by the charm of the Oudou family.

By the way, it originated in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, but the main store has now moved to Toride City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Decide based on the route you will be using.

By the way, if you go by car, there is street parking nearby, but since it is a popular restaurant in Tokyo, it is probably best not to expect to be able to park nearby.

The first weekend after opening

The opening day, July 20th, was a Tuesday, which was a weekday, so I went on the first weekend after the opening, the 23rd (Friday), a four-day holiday!

IEKEI TOKYO opening weekend

It's crowded as expected!
Even security guards were called in.
Daytime session (11:00-18:00)Fast passes are given to 30 people per hour by security guards..
There is also the option of staying in line (just waiting), but priority is given to those who have fast passes available every hour, so you'll likely have to wait for quite a while...
Night session (from 18pm until closing time)Numbered ticket systemSo if you want to eat there at night, be sure to get a numbered ticket.
We went there around 12 o'clock and got a fast pass for the 14-15pm slot!!

IEKEI Fastpass

When the time for your designated fast pass arrives, head to the store and line up!
Even though I waited in the fast pass line, it took about 40 minutes, so if you're planning on going, you should be prepared to wait in line for a reasonable amount of time.
I think the rush to open new stores will die down after a while, so waiting a month or so might be an option!

The inside of the store was a huge success

The interior of the restaurant has 17 counter seats arranged in an L-shape and one four-seater table, giving it a very spacious feel.
The spacious restaurant, with a total of 21 seats, is always in full swing and is a huge success!!
Inside IEKEI TOKYO

The counter, tables, and seating are all red, giving it the feel of a Chinese restaurant.

IEKEI TOKYO opening celebration

Flowers were displayed everywhere inside and in front of the store to celebrate the opening!

IEKEI TOKYO ticket vending machine

At the ticket machineA wide variety of menu items and toppings! !
There are a wide variety of toppings available, so choose your favorites!
This time, I ordered char siu ramen (850 yen) topped with a seasoned egg (100 yen) and green vegetables (100 yen), and also char siu sprinkled on top (180 yen)!

Those who often go to Iekei ramen restaurants will know that when ordering Iekei ramen,
-Soup thickness(Strong, normal, weak)
-Noodle hardness(Hard, normal, soft)
-Amount of fat(More, normal, less)
You will be asked these three things, so if you have any preferences, let the staff know.
Personally, I like the noodles to be firm and the rest to be normal (if you order the noodles firm, they take less time to boil, so the ramen arrives quickly after ordering).

Truly the "classic" Iekei ramen

A salty and delicious soup that seems to be directly descended from Oudouya

IEKEI TOKYO Ramen

Oudouya is known for its strong yellow, rich and punchy pork bone soy sauce soup, which is one of the most distinctive features of the Iekei ramen!
Of course, that salty, delicious soup has been passed down to its direct descendant, IEKEI TOKYO.
The best way to eat it is to dip the green vegetables (spinach and komatsuna) into the salty soup.
If you are sensitive to the strong saltiness, you may want to ask for a less salty soup.

This time I ordered extra green vegetables, but the basic toppings of Iekei ramen, spinach, seaweed, and pork fillets, are also included even without toppings, which is impressive."The royal road"Is that about it?

Medium-thick noodles with a chewy texture and a fragrant wheat flavor

IEKEI TOKYO noodles

As for the noodles, they are medium-thick, just like the ramen you'd expect from a family ramen restaurant!
The noodles have a firm texture, and the rich flavor of the noodles is not overwhelmed even in the thick soup, and they have a strong wheat aroma.
When it comes to how well the noodles are cooked, I personally like them to be a little firm so that they have a springy, chewy texture.

The pork slices are thick and chewy!

IEKEI TOKYO Char Siu

The char siu is made from thick pork thigh meat.Great textureThat's it!
It is smoked,香ばしい香りIt will satisfy your appetite and has a chewy texture, so the more you chew it, the more the flavor of the meat comes out.

Customize it with your own toppings!

In addition to toppings sold from ticket machines, another feature of Iekei ramen is that grated garlic and chopped ginger are provided at each seat.
Mix and match the toppings to suit your taste.

Garlic, ginger, etc.

As for me, seasoned eggs are an essential part of ramen, so I always top my ramen with them!

IEKEI TOKYO seasoned egg

The seasoned eggs at IEKEI TOKYO seem neither too hard nor too soft.
Personally, I prefer it a little softer, but it's absolutely delicious when mixed with the soup!

For those big eaters who just can't get enough of ramen, try the roast pork filling.

Ramen + rice is a set that will make you fat, but for those who like it, this isI'm so happy I can't stop.

IEKEI TOKYO Char Siu Covered

If you eat rice topped with roast pork and chopped seaweed and pour a little soup over it,bliss!!
By the way, the Oudouya way to eat char siu mabushi is to pour plenty of mayonnaise over it.

Char siu topped with mayonnaise

Hurry to IEKEI TOKYO, where they are also running an opening campaign!!

The opening campaign runs until August 1st!

There's an open campaign going on until August 1st, so if you're interested, hurry up!
Only those who follow the official Twitter account can play the rattle.
It seems that the prizes will include T-shirts, caps, and tumblers with the store's logo.

IEKEI TOKYO Rattle

They also seem to be handing out logo stickers to everyone.
If you're a ramen lover, this is a must-have item!!

IEKEI TOKYO seal

IEKEI TOKYO is a ramen that follows the royal road of Iekei ramen.

IEKEI TOKYO's ramen can be summed up in one word:Ramen that follows the royal road of Iekei ramen"Is that right?
It was a ramen that adhered to the basic principles of family ramen, yet felt more authentic than any other family ramen.
However, Iekei ramen is quite strong-flavored and oily, so it would be a lie to say that I would recommend it to everyone...
In any case, a new supernova of Iekei ramen has been born in Tokyo, a city that is said to have a thin Iekei ramen scene, so Iekei ramen lovers in Tokyo should definitely go!
