However,The explanation is so lacking that I don't really understand how to install it..
So, this time I'll explain how to install the ray tracing compatible Minecraft beta!
*By the way, it is only compatible with the Win10 version of Minecraft, not the Java version.
PC used
CPU:Ryzen3700X
GPU:RTX2060
memory:16 GB
SSD:Crucial MX500 500GB
It's a very simple mid-range gaming PC.
For those who are wondering, what is ray tracing in the first place?
If I were to explain it in detail, it would be quite difficult to do it in writing.
It might be quicker to watch the subtitled video below.
This technology has now been adapted for Minecraft.
So the beta test is now underway.
First, install Xbox Insider
First, go to the Microsoft Store and install Xbox Insider!
[Xbox Insider]← Just copy and paste this.
Now, if you were originally playing the Windows 10 version of Minecraft, you probably have a Microsoft account.
*If you don't have an account, please register. You can't play without an account.
Log in to Xbox Insider with your Microsoft account.
↓A screen like this will appear.

Next, select Insider Content from the menu on the left.
The beta program for Minecraft for Win10 is now available.

First, select Minecraft.
Next, you'll be asked whether you want to participate in the beta test.
There are also warnings written, so please read them carefully and then[Participation]Press the button!

After that, there will be a check circle to decide which one to participate in.
[Minecraft RTX Beta for Windows 10]Select and press Done!

Furthermore, detailed warnings appear one after another.
In summary
"First of all, you can't play it unless you have a graphics card of RTX2060 or higher, so be careful about that.''Furthermore, if you join, the Minecraft (Windows version) currently installed on your PC will be replaced with the RTX-compatible beta version, you won't be able to play with friends who aren't using the beta version, and you won't be able to open the worlds you created in the beta version in the previous version, so don't forget to back them up."
That's what it is, but I think those who participate in the beta version will be well prepared to deal with data crashes and the like, so read the warning and press the agree button.

Then the screen returns to what it was before.[Participation]The button that was[Pending]changes to.
By waiting further【管理】It changes to.

You can opt out of the beta at any time by going to the admin panel here!

Unexpectedly uninstalling Minecraft?!
Now, I thought I could play RTX-compatible Minecraft, but I couldn't.
When I start it up, not only does nothing change on the screen, but I can't even find the settings.
After thinking about it for about an hour,Uninstall Minecraft from your PC.
Then reinstall the Win10 version of Minecraft from the Microsoft Store.

After logging in, you will see updated information!!
If you are having trouble starting Minecraft after joining the beta, we recommend that you uninstall the software.

Now you can experience the world of ray tracing!!
Don't forget to update your graphics drivers
My joy was short-lived, as there was nothing in the Advanced Video section.

I thought for a moment that something was wrong, but then I realized I had forgotten to update the graphics card driver.
ApparentlyIt seems that you can't play RTX-enabled Minecraft unless you start from version 445.87..
Just go to the official website, download and install.

Don't forget to update your graphics card drivers!
*The installer screen also promotes Minecraft.

Get the world of ray tracing in the Market!
The next thing to do is get the world of ray tracing on the market.

Once you have it, be sure to download it!
There's no point in just getting it and not downloading it to your PC.

Once you've successfully downloaded it, you can start by experiencing the world of ray tracing.
Let's create this worldPressing this will take you to a pre-created ray tracing world.

There are various settings that will come up, but for now, it's fine to just create a new world as usual.

I was able to safely enter the world of ray tracing.
Various items are appearing in Advanced Video.

This completes the installation of the ray tracing version of Minecraft! (It's still in beta though)
Screen changes due to different number of chunks
First, 8 chunks

Next, 16 chunks

Finally, 24 chunks

In the first place, the chunk itself has nothing to do with the application of ray tracing or anything like that, but I decided to test it to see how much load it would put on it.
Try out ray tracing-enabled Minecraft
To be honest...
Even with 8 chunks, if there are a lot of objects displayedIs the RTX2060 not powerful enough?I felt that way.
If you want to play without stress, you'll need a 2060 SUPER or better...or even a 2070 SUPER? That's what I thought.
I can't say for sure yet since I've only walked around the world provided by the official side, but I think you'll need a decent graphics card power.
I haven't experienced the normal map world shown in the trailer yet, so I can't say for sure, but I think it's safe to assume that you'll need a certain level of machine specs.
However, it is still in the beta testing stage, and we look forward to seeing it further optimized in the future.
