Kinsect's Basic Actions

The Wirebug, which first appeared in Monster Hunter Rise, is similar to the Clutch Claw from the Monster Hunter World era, but is handled a little differently.
Basically, it is positioned as a movement action for moving in three dimensions.

Kinsect Specifications

At the start of the quest, you will start with two Kinsects.
The number of times the Kinsect can be used is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and there is a cooldown period after each use before it can be used again.

Additionally, by catching wild Kinsects in the field, you can increase the number of times you can use the Kinsect for a certain period of time, up to a maximum of three Kinsect actions.
However, be careful as wild Wisdom Bugs will run away from the player after a certain amount of time has passed.

Some Kinsect actions require the use of two Kinsects, so be sure to keep an eye on the remaining number of uses when using them.

Introducing Kinsect Action

First, let's start by introducing the basics of Kinsect action.
You will fight monsters by using these actions in different ways.
Also, since this is an action necessary for going to high places, be sure to memorize it as necessary.
▼ZL+ZR
Dash [Aim]
Aim at the target mark in the center of the screen and fire the Kinsect.

▼ZL+X
Soar [upward]
Fires a Kinsect towards the upper part of the character.

▼ZL+A
Dash [Forward]

▼ZL+B(While being blown away)
(※The direction of the defensive move changes depending on the direction the stick is tilted)
Kinsect Defensive

▼A in the air
Hanging

Wirebug techniques will be discussed later.
These Kinsect actions are the core of Ryze, so being able to use them quickly will make hunting much easier.

How to use Dash

Dash is a way to move at high speed by flying the Kinsect.
This is the basic Kinsect action, and there are three types of Dash alone.
Here I would like to introduce the three basic ways to use it.
I will also include a video so please take a look.

▼Upward direction: ZL+X
This is a method to use when you want to move to a higher place.
The Wisdom Bug is launched diagonally upwards, allowing it to fly a certain distance and be used like a jump.
When used in the air, it will move forward while falling.
The Garuga Jump → Withdraw → Dash (Up) action can be used to move around the map in the shortest distance, so it's important to remember this sequence.

▼Horizontal: ZL+A
A method of moving sideways at high speed.
It accelerates rapidly from the start and stops after a certain amount of inertia has taken effect.
When used in the air, it accelerates downwards.
It can be used when you want to get down to the ground at high speed, but it doesn't seem to be used very often.

▼Aiming: ZL+ZR
This method involves firing the Kinsect at the targeting mark on the screen to move.
It allows you to fire the Wisdom Bug at angles that you can't reach with Dash (Up) or (Sideways), but it can't be used while your weapon is unsheathed, so it's not very user-friendly.
Adjust the angle and use it for a falling attack...maybe.

▼ Kinsect Defensive: ZL+B (changes the defensive direction depending on the direction of the left stick)
This is probably the first and most used action when playing Monster Hunter Rise.
If you are blown away by an enemy, you can quickly regain your balance by pressing ZL+B.
By using the Kinsect defensive move, you will put your weapon in a sheathed state, making it easier to avoid or recover by moving away from the area or using an item.
If you only stay on the defensive, you won't be able to accumulate the Wirebugs needed for wirebug attacks, so being able to quickly decide when to use them will broaden your range of combat.
However, at first, it may be best to just use it as soon as you get blown away.

▼ Use of various sprints and tips
By using each of these leaps appropriately, you'll be able to reach great heights.

Iron thread technique

New weapon-specific actions using the Kinsect have been added to this game.
that is"Iron thread technique".
As the name of the Wirebug technique suggests, it can only be used when the Wirebug gauge is full.
Also, be aware that the amount of gauge used varies depending on the action.
Another feature is that the button operations for wirebug techniques are different for swordsmen and gunners.
▼Swordsman
ZL+X or A
▼Gunner
R+X or A

Easy-to-use wirebug technique

There are various types of wirebug moves, including attack, defense, and counter moves, but here I will introduce some that are relatively easy to use.
▼One-handed sword: Windmill (ZL+A)
A wirebug technique that consumes two Wirebugs.
It covers the area attacks that one-handed swords are weak at.
There is also an invincible period at the beginning of the move, so if you use it in conjunction with a monster's attack, you can attack without taking damage.

▼Greatsword: Enhanced Sheathing (ZL+A)
Sheathes the sword with a glowing effect. Uses one Kinsect gauge.
It is not an attacking technique, but rather a buff technique that strengthens the user.
If activated, you will definitely strengthen yourself, so if you're not good at hitting with wirebug techniques, you might want to try using this.

▼Slash Axe: Kongo Renaxo (ZL+X)
Attacks while moving forward, consuming one Kinsect gauge.
During the action, you will be in a state of super armor and will not flinch no matter what attack you receive.
This also prevents you from being blown away, so you can not only attack with force, but also use it to evade attacks.

Whoever controls the Kinsect controls Monster Hunter Rise

If you look at each action individually, it looks like a simple movement technique.
However, Kinsect actions have a lot of potential, as they can be used in conjunction with other actions to perform a variety of different actions.
Since it's a new system, it's still difficult to fully master, but it's fun just hopping around when you move around!
