Monster Hunter Rise for Switch: Recommended Melee Weapons for Early and Mid-Game Play

Anastasia

An additional patch has also been released for Monster Hunter Rise, and I'm sure there were many hunters who were immersed in Monster Hunter during this year's Golden Week.
Some of you have recently started playing Monster Hunter Rise, so this time I would like to introduce what weapons you should have and what skills you should aim for from the early to mid-game.

The definition of early to mid game is "Village quests as of June - up to ☆5'We will be announcing this as follows.'
It's just one step away from being able to obtain what is known as higher-level materials.
In the meeting hall☆3~4Is it around there?

Recommended skills for melee weapons

There are many different types of weapons in Monster Hunter.
Firepower can be increased by selecting skills that are appropriate for the weapon type, but this time I would like to focus on skills that can be used with any melee weapon and can be used in a variety of ways just by activating them.

attack

First, let's start with the "Attack" skill.
Each time the skill level increases, the attack power increases.
It simply increases your attack power, so if you're not sure what to do, this is the card to use in the early and mid-game.
It feels like the more you have the better.

sharp sword

This skill reduces the consumption of weapon sharpness.
Rather than reducing consumption by a fixed amount, there is a chance that sharpness will not decrease when you take an action that consumes sharpness.
At skill level 3, there is a 50% chance that sharpness will be reduced.
You'll be amazed at how easy it is to use, especially when used with a one-handed sword or dual swords.

End of conversation

This is also a skill that can increase damage.
It can increase the chance of success when attacking.
Critical hits can increase damage, leading to increased firepower.
In this game, a fair number of armor pieces are equipped with evasion skills from the early stages.

Recommended weapons for mid-game

This is the equipment you'll need after completing the village quests and about to start the gathering hall quests.
A full range of monsters appear, so you can choose your skills to a certain extent.
The characteristics of each weapon will be more pronounced depending on the skills you select.
With this equipment, you will be able to aim for the gathering place and higher level quests.

One-handed sword

It has good attack power, a good gauge length, and good explosive properties, making it an easy-to-use weapon.
The explosion damage in this game is decent and occurs frequently, making it easy to deal damage.
Personally, I would like to use it in conjunction with a Masterful Weapon, but it might also be a good idea to add attribute enhancements.
One-handed sword

twin sword

Attribute weapon system.
I would like to control various attribute weapons, but if I were to make just one,
Magatsublade [Seal] series
I would recommend it.
The combination of a large number of moves and explosive weapons is excellent.
twin sword

Tadao

In this game, the katana seems to be the main weapon, reigning supreme as a relatively easy-to-use and powerful weapon.
In the story, you can also receive a certain sword during a village quest.
If you are thinking about making other equipment, it has high basic attack power and high critical hit rate.
Hidden Sabre
Wouldn't that be better?
Tadao

Large sword

A weapon that emphasizes the power of a single blow.
Since it does not attack by increasing the number of moves, high attack power is more important than attributes.
Since you want to deal great damage when you have the chance to attack, it may be a good idea to fight with a high level of evasion.
Like the long sword, it is a Nargacuga weapon.
Hidden Blaze
We recommend this weapon.
Large sword

Lance

This is one of the weapon types whose controls have changed with each series.
Basically, their strengths are their slow movements, solid defense, and the solid attacks they can launch from there.
Because guarding is an important weapon, you'll want to use guard strengthening and guard performance in your skills, which may mean sacrificing some of your attack skills.
Personally, I recommend equipment with high attack power and a long green gauge.
Lance

Gunlance

The weapon will be used in a similar way to a lance, but the biggest difference is that it can fire artillery fire.
The gunlance is a weapon that is an even more offensive version of the lance.
It also has slow movements and high guard performance, and like the Lance, it mainly fights by taking a solid stance.
The way it's used and fought is a bit unique, so we recommend using it after you've become somewhat familiar with Monster Hunter.
The damage dealt by artillery fire varies depending on the type, but it's best to start by getting used to the standard type gunlance with its long gauge.
Gunlance

Slash Axe

A transformable weapon that can be used in either axe or sword mode.
Although it is a large weapon, it is an attack-specific weapon that cannot be guarded against.
You fight by managing your gauge while switching between highly mobile axe mode and slower but more powerful sword mode.
Performance varies depending on the type of vial, but I think it's best to start by using weapons that have a "powerful attack vial" attached.
If you can attack the weak attribute, a strong attribute bottle might be a good option.
Slash Axe

Charge Axe

Like the Slash Axe, it is a transforming weapon that can be used in battle by switching between sword and axe modes.
The difference is that in sword mode it has high mobility and can also defend.
While in sword mode, you can collect bottles and use them to strengthen your sword and shield.
Bottles are also used for the "High-Powered Attribute Release Slash" and "Ultra-High-Powered Attribute Release Slash" that can be performed while in axe mode.
It is specially designed and requires a lot to remember, but by making full use of actions that combine offense and defense, it is a masterful weapon that allows you to constantly attack.
You'll gradually learn about bottles, but for starters, choose the grenade bottle.
Charge Axe

insect root

A weapon that fights while strengthening itself by obtaining extracts.
It is equipped with a unique system called insect manipulation, making it a weapon type with unique controls even among melee weapons.
You can jump without using the Kinsect, which makes it easier to hit floating monsters and weak spots on high ground, and the action aspect of the weapon is different from other weapon types, which is appealing, but with the introduction of the Kinsect, it seems like it has become a bit of a clunky position...
Choose a hunting insect with a high level and a long gauge, as it has many moves.
Insect Control Stick

Maybe it's a good idea to try a different weapon sometimes?

For us hunters, it's best to go on quests with weapons we're familiar with, but why not try changing the weapons you use sometimes?
You may discover something new, such as being able to easily defeat that monster you had trouble with, or enjoying quests at different intervals than usual.
