Akihabara Nigiwai Hiroba 2023: Test drive an EV tuk-tuk and interact with maids
Akihabara is packed with events every month.
Even now, there are so many events happening every week that it's hard to know where to go.
During this event month, I participated in an event that really gave me a taste of Akihabara.
That is "Akihabara Nigiwai Hiroba 2023"
This time, I would like to report on this event.
What is Akihabara Nigiwai Hiroba 2023?

Akihabara Nigiwai Hiroba is an event held at Akihabara Park on November 11th and 12th, 2023.
This time, I attended the meeting on the 12th, but unfortunately it rained in the morning...
We wondered if the event would even be held, but the weather somehow improved and the event went ahead without any problems.
This event is one of the city development events organized by the Akihabara Tourism Promotion Committee and sponsored by Chiyoda Ward.
Maid cafes and tourism companies in Akihabara are participating in the event, which serves as a way to attract people to Akihabara and promote the city as one that holds events such as these.
In addition to the latest new technologies and services, the experience event that highlights the unique Akihabara vibe is sure to be of interest.
Win something. Lottery
When I arrived at the event venue, I was greeted by a familiar face.
Chazuke, the man who popularized the term "otokonoko" (crossdresser), is also scheduled to appear on Akiba Login, which will be live streamed on November 13th.
Here you could draw lots and win something, which attracted many people as it felt like a counter.
I got a Wilkinson wood canister without any tricks.
Nothing good has happened to me lately, so maybe I'm getting a little lucky...?
*This year's main misfortune
Male Daughter® Maid Cafe & Bar NEWTYPE
A VR experience where you can enjoy a maid cafe in VR
Next we headed to this place!!
A booth where you can experience Maidreamin services in VR.
This is something that's difficult to convey through images or videos, but the maids were right in front of you, and you could clearly see the inside of the store no matter how you looked, so I thought this booth was a great way to use VR.
I thought this maid cafe experience might be the best way to enjoy VR.
*By the way, this image is a monitor that allows you to check how the video is displayed in VR.
Of course, the maids who will guide you through the experience will be Maidreamin maids.
The temperature was quite low on the day, but they handled the situation with great enthusiasm.
The actual store is also full of amusement and fun, so be sure to check it out at least once.
There were also booths where you could try out e-sports games like Puyo Puyo and Taiko no Tatsujin.
EV Tuk-Tuk experience event
Akiba.TV's "Akiba Deep Travel" initiative, which aims to provide a deeper experience of Akihabara, will also be holding an EV Tuk-Tuk experience event.
Tuk-tuks are mopeds that are widely used in Thailand and are three-wheeled motorbikes with one front wheel and two rear wheels.
Akiba Deep Travel uses these tuk-tuks to offer tours and rentals around Akihabara.
This time, I took part in a tour experience around Akihabara on the back of a tuk-tuk.
At the trial session I attended on the 12th, the route took us around Akihabara spots and all the way to Kanda Myojin Shrine.
Akihabara becomes a pedestrian zone on Sundays, so the route will probably be different from the actual tour.
・Shohei Street
・Go down Maid Street
・It's Sunday so there are a lot of people.
・In front of Kanda Myojin Shrine
・At the end, you can take a commemorative photo at Kanda Myojin Shrine.
An event that is close to the town and offers experiences unique to Akihabara
This time, I participated in Nigiwai Hiroba 2023, which was held at Akihabara Park.
Although the weather was unfortunate, all of the events exhibited were enjoyable for anyone to experience.
I look forward to seeing more events in the future that help people get to know Akihabara.
