I painted my PS4 controller in Hatsune Miku colors at the Akihabara workshop.

"Personal aircraft" is something boys love, and when they see something like "That's amazing, that's cool" and you will become captivated.

Disassembling the PS4 controller

Here is the PS4 pad we will be using this time.
I've been using it since the days of the Destiny bundled version, but recently the left stick has started to malfunction, so I'm having it repaired and having it repainted in a new color.

Remove the four screws on the back to access the inside.
Be careful not to tear the wires when pulling them out.

The board is held in place with just one screw and can be easily removed.

Once you remove all the parts, it will look like this.

Degrease your PS4 pad

*What is degreasing?
Remove oil from the surface of the body to be painted.
Degreasing can improve the adhesion of paint.
It's best to do it properly!

The things you need to degrease are things that are in every household.Neutral detergentThat's OK.
Simply fill a bucket with water and add an appropriate amount of mild detergent.
However, when degreasing, make sure the sponges and cloths you use are oil-free or that you prepare new ones specifically for degreasing.

Take some time to thoroughly degrease even the smallest details, then rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining foam or detergent.
After rinsing thoroughly, drain off some of the water and leave to dry until completely dry.

I decided to dry it in a sunny, well-ventilated place.

The degreasing process is complete when there is no moisture left on the surface of the pad.

Painting the PS4 pad

Once you've decided what color you want, it's time to start painting.
This time I was planning to do some candy paint, so I went to a place in Akihabara.
The Akihabara Workshop is located about a 5-minute walk from Akihabara Station.

Step 1: Apply the base coat to the PS4 pad

First, apply the base coat.
This item will be candy painted, so the base will be silver.
Paint isGaia Notes 009 Bright Silver
Paint the front side

Next, paint the back

The base is now complete.
The back side has a non-slip texture, so paint it thoroughly all over to ensure no areas are left unpainted.
Applying a good primer coat will determine the quality of your future painting.

Step 2: Adding color

Normally, when doing candy painting, a clear paint is used, but I came across a color that really caught my eye, so I quickly changed course.
The color in question is Mikucolor paint.
As a Hatsune Miku lover, I couldn't help but use it, so I chose the "Miku Hair ShadowI chose "." This is what it looks like after I've applied the first layer.
*Miku hair shadow is not a clear color, so it does not show through the base, making it difficult to apply candy paint.

Step 3: Apply three layers to create a glittery effect

Due to a sudden change in direction, my PS4 pad isMiku color with glitter finish' was implemented.
The order of painting

1. Miku color
2. Miku Color & Star Bright Silver
3. Miku color

Things settle down in this way.
It may be hard to tell from the picture, but the second layer of Star Bright Silver has been applied.

In reality, it has a very sparkly glittery look and the color is applied beautifully.
The image is similar to the glitter finish often seen in nail art.

The painting is completed by adding the final layer of color.
I thought about painting the back a Miku-themed gray, but considering that the front is sparkly with glitter, I decided to finish it off with Starbright Silver.
Then apply a matte clear coat and let it dry

Process 4: Finishing

Once the clear coat has driedコンパウンドFinish with.

But here I made a big mistake.
I forget to wet sand before applying the compound.
On the contrary, the clear coat was not applied thickly in some places, and every time I polished it with compound, some of the paint would peel off...

"There are mistakes like this, it can't be helped"
With this in mind, I decided to polish at least the parts that were still intact, and after further polishing with compound, I came up with this!!

Preparation and finishing are extremely important

There is one thing I realized through this painting project.
Before paintingPreparation" and " after paintingFinishing" must be done with particular care.
The color and glitter application came out beautifully, so now I just need to focus on the preparation and finishing, and next time I'd like to try candy painting...or wrap painting.
