Have you heard of Ramen Tsumugi Mugi?
This is a famous ramen restaurant on Akihabara Showa Street that is known only to those in the know!
As you can tell from the "mugi" in the restaurant's name, the barley they use makes for noodles that are a little different from other ramen restaurants!
Apparently, they use wheat from Kagawa Prefecture, which is also used to make Sanuki udon.
This time I went to Ramen Tsumugi Mugi, so I'll give you a food review!

In front of Ramen Tsumugi

This time I went on a weekday just after 11am (a little before opening time), and even though it was before opening time, there were about four suited salarymen lined up, who seemed to have come to eat during their lunch break from work.

Ramen Tsumugi Mugi ticket machine

There is a ticket machine in front of the store, so purchase a meal ticket before entering.
This time, I ordered ramen (870 yen).
As it said on the top right corner of the ticket machine that they would exchange it for 1,000 yen, I was just short of 1,000 yen, but the friendly staff member was happy to help me!

I was also very interested in the set katsudon (500 yen), but after considering my stomach condition, I decided to give up.
When you go to Ramen Tsumugi Mugi, I hope you will try the set katsudon and get revenge on me.

These noodles are made with the finest barley! Try the Tsumugi Barley Ramen

As the name of the restaurant includes the word "barley," the barley used for the noodles is a little different from that used at other ramen restaurants.
Apparently, they use "Sanuki no Yume," an original wheat produced in Kagawa Prefecture that is also used in Sanuki udon.
Ramen Tsumugi Mugi store information

There was a sign inside the store detailing the shop's specialties, so I read it carefully and was filled with anticipation as to what kind of ramen would be served when the bowl arrived!

Ramen Tsumugimugi Ramen

At first glance, it looks like regular soy sauce ramen.
The soup is soy sauce based with chicken stock and Japanese-style broth, and is so flavorful that you might wonder if it's really ramen. It was lightHere you go!

The toppings are naruto, char siu, and green onions, which are verysimpleIt's a topping

Ramen Tsumugi Noodles

As for their proud noodles, they also look like normal medium-thick noodles.
When I sipped it...

Feel the earth of Kagawa!!!

Smooth texture like Sanuki udonAnd it goes down my throat.
The wheat used is from Kagawa Prefecture, which is also used to make udon noodles, so it has a distinct wheat aroma.Udon-like.
This goes perfectly with the soup mentioned above, which is a little too light for the ramen mentioned above!
The noodles have a smooth texture unlike anything you've ever tasted before, and the light soup made with Japanese dashi stock means you won't be able to stop eating!
so to speak"A midpoint between ramen and udon"It was an exquisite collaboration that made the best use of the strengths of both.

Ramen Tsumugi is a hidden gem in front of Akihabara Station

Ramen Tsumugi Mugi is centered around noodles with a texture and aroma similar to udon, with nothing wasted.A famous restaurant serving simple Japanese-style ramenwas.
Even if you normally use the Electric Town exit of Akihabara Station, why not get off at the Showa Dori exit and visit this hidden gem of a shop?

Finally, I'll end with a five-point rating!!
