What is Poker Texas Hold'em?

Everyone, "pokerWhat comes to mind when you hear the word "?"
That card game where you use playing cards to compete for the biggest hand?
Yes, that is exactly the card game, but did you know that there is a difference between the poker that is generally recognized in Japan and the poker that is held in major events and tournaments around the world?

In this Sengoku Poker Tour, texas holdemThe tournament was held under the world's most played poker rules, "Poker Rules."

In Texas Hold'em, players compete to see who has the highest hand using the two cards they are dealt plus five cards that are placed on the table.
The rules are slightly different from the poker rules commonly used in Japan, so first-time players may be confused by the differences.
However, the rules themselves are not complicated, so once you learn them, it is a very attractive game that can be played all over the world.

▲It is a table sport that requires a high level of strategy and the outcome is never decided by luck alone.

What is the Sengoku Poker Tour?

A poker tournament that brings together Texas Hold'em veterans from all over Japan.
The event was held on Day 1 and Day 2, and the winner of the Day 2 event held at Kanda Myojin Cultural Exchange Center became the champion of the Sengoku Poker Tour.$13,900 cash prize, a World Multi Passport, and a winner's trophywill be presented.

One of the major goals of this Sengoku Poker Tour is
"Winning this event will be recognized as one of the ultimate goals for poker players across Japan.' is the slogan.
As per that goal, the event saw a total of 500 players participating on Day 1 and Day 2.

Of the 500 players, only one will emerge victorious.
It is an extremely difficult task to advance among the fierce competitors who have advanced to Day 2.

In addition to the main event, a side event called "ZIPANG" was also held at the same time, and the winner of this event$3,000 cash prize, a World Multi Passport, and a winner's trophywill be presented.

Both events were filled with an incredible atmosphere of excitement, and the players' serious looks as they faced the boards were filled with a determination to win.

Sengoku-themed poker event

As the name of the event suggests, this event isSengoku periodIt was modeled after the "
The players were called warlords, the SB and BB were called tributes, and the dealers were dressed in costumes reminiscent of the Warring States period, creating a very good atmosphere.
The main poker table on the stage is decorated with a cherry blossom pattern and is also decorated with Sanada's six-mon coin engraved with the characters for the Warring States period and the symbols of playing cards, further enhancing the Warring States period feel.
What particularly caught my eye was the announcements made in the venue to the sound of a conch shell.
If I had participated as a player, I think that alone would have made me feel a little better.

Both dealers on the Sengoku Poker Tour are skilled card dealers, and some have been Texas Hold'em dealers for over 10 years.

Although it is an event that has a festive atmosphere, all the dealers are well trained in their skills, so players can enjoy the game with peace of mind.

Sengoku Poker Tour, tournament scene

There were heated matches at every table, and to be honest, I had trouble knowing where to look.
I wanted to see the games being played on stage and the games at the side events...so I wandered around to the various tables.
Going to the venue in person would have given people a better sense of how serious the players were, but given the current situation, there must have been many poker fans who gave up on going to the venue.
We will post photos from the day so that you can at least get a feel for the atmosphere, so we hope you will think about the tournament and poker as you prepare for the next tournament.

There are 11 poker tables prepared in the main and side areas, including on the stage.

The hanging scroll featured a haiku poem about poker.

When the players make an all-in call, we feel nervous as we watch and concentrate on the cards that are being turned over.

After the turn, it seemed like the outcome was almost decided, but on the river, the game came back to a halt, and cheers erupted.

The final table is the calm before the storm. Who will win this long battle?

The chips piled up like mountains. The final stage of the Sengoku Poker Tour begins.

Why Akihabara is called the Mecca of Poker

As the title suggests, let me briefly explain why Akihabara is known as the mecca of poker.

Originally, many poker tournaments and events were held in Akihabara, but as the number of casino players increased year by year, it became difficult to hold tournaments due to the size of the facilities, so I heard that they sought to hold tournaments and events with a larger capacity, and expanded their scale to all over Japan.

The Sengoku Poker Tour that was held this time was one of the poker tournaments that spread from Akihabara to the whole country, and players who won Day 1 held in various places gathered at Kanda Myojin Shrine.

In addition, many of the staff working as dealers and companions are former or current con cafe cast members, and some have worked as waitresses at stores that everyone knows.
It feels like something that could only happen in Akihabara.
