Seimitsu 40th Anniversary Lever [Unboxing]

One day, a small cardboard box arrived at my house.

"Precision equipment arrived from Seimitsu...'
I tweeted about how damn cold it is as winter approaches, and the temperature in the room dropped a little, but anyway, the anniversary model Seimitsu lever has arrived in my hands.

When you pull it out of the cardboard box, you'll see a green box wrapped in bubble wrap.

When I picked up the box, it was much heavier than I had imagined.
I don't think it was 1kg, but it felt like it was over 500g.

When you open the box, the first thing you see is the sticker and shaft.

Remove the divider from the box and you'll find the lever and other parts.
It was securely fastened in place to prevent it from shifting during transport.

Seimitsu 40th Anniversary Lever [Contents]

Next, check the contents.

First of all, of course, the lever itself.
The base is green with white lettering.

The lever ball is white.
The logo is engraved in gold on the top of the ball.
This specification is only found on the lever ball included with the anniversary model.

Lever shaft.
There are three shafts of different lengths, all gold.

Next comes the square guide, dust cover, and spare E-ring.
Please note that this is not compatible with Sanwa products.

Replacement spring.
It's a little hard to see, but it comes in two colors: silver and black.
*Two springs are stacked inside.

You can combine these to customize it to suit your needs.
I'll probably have to install and remove it many times until I find the best setting, but that's part of the fun of modifying an arcade controller, so I'd like to take my time with it.

Seimitsu 40th Anniversary Lever [Installation]

I recommend you refer to this article before starting work.
That said, replacing the lever itself isn't that difficult, so don't worry!

[Arcade Controller] OTTO DIY V5 Installation [Lever Modification]

Here is Akekon installing the Seimitsu lever for this anniversary model!
At Akihabara Base Camp, we have a familiar "Fighting Edge Blade"Chan.

My beloved arcade controller has already undergone countless customizations.
This time I can put in a Seimitsu lever...

First, open the bottom and remove the lever.
It's a simple task that just requires removing the screws used to attach the main unit.

Make sure to remove the lever ball before removing the main body.

A diagram of the lever body removed.
There are six screw holes, which can accommodate several plate patterns.

Next, prepare the Seimitsu lever.
Remove the dust cover before attaching it to the arcade controller.
There is quite a bit of grease applied, but if it bothers you, you can wipe off any excess grease.
I was planning to replace the shaft later, so I left it installed as is.

All that's left now is to install it, but I'm sorry I forgot to take pictures after installation!
All you have to do is make sure the terminal on the lever body is on the lever cable side of the arcade controller body and screw it in place, so I don't think there will be any problems!
*We will add more details in the next section.

Seimitsu 40th Anniversary Lever [Other Parts Replacement]

The Seimitsu levers on the anniversary model come with a round guide attached by default.
It would be fine to continue using the round guide as it moves smoothly, but I think I'll go ahead and replace it with a square guide.
We will also replace the shaft and spring at the same time.

Remove the round guide and back plate screws and remove them.
*Please also check the terminal position here when installing the main unit.

Select a replacement shaft that is slightly longer than the default.

*You can choose from four shaft lengths (including the length attached to the main body).

The spring is the stiffest.
The image gets harder from left to right.
*You can choose from three types of springs (including those installed on the main unit).

Attach the square guide and the customization is complete!

Finally, put on the lever ball ...
The anniversary model fighting edge blade with Seimitsu lever is complete!

Seimitsu 40th Anniversary Lever [Caution]

As for the Victrix arcade stick, I was unable to attach it because the cable was not long enough.

If it were a little longer, I think I could flip the cable over and install it...
It seems possible if you prepare a new cable to connect the main body and the lever, but in the normal statePlease note that the Anniversary lever cannot be installed on Victrix arcade sticks.

Summary of usage

・It is difficult to insert at an angle with the round guide until you get used to it.
*It's difficult to execute until you get used to the Shoryuken command.
・You have to consciously push the lever to input
*The switch will not turn on if you operate it roughly like a Sanwa lever.
- There is little rattle and play.
*The rattle may be because it is new, so please use it after using it for a while.
・The length of the shaft affects the genres in which it is good or bad.
※The longest and shortest shafts were a bit tough for fighting games.
*Parts you want to change depending on the genre of game you play
・It feels a little quieter than the Sanwa lever.
* I want to measure it properly once.
・Once you get used to it, the Seimitsu lever will probably operate more smoothly.
*By consciously inputting the lever, your commands will naturally become more beautiful.
