Wireless and wired speaker [SoundCoreMotion B]

Akihabara BC

Are you listening to music at a good volume?
When I buy headphones or speakers, there are certain things I always pay attention to.
"Something that offers sound quality that exceeds its price at an affordable price" This is the part that says.
Anker's speakers are a perfect example of this.

Now, I would like to introduce the Motion B from the Anker Soundcore series that I purchased.

Why I chose the Anker Soundcore Motion B

Otaku desks have a lot of stuff!
Of course, my desk is full of stuff too!
Of course, there are two monitors, a storage compartment for small items, a microphone, headphones, etc.
Since it was getting too small, I decided to change the keyboard to a tenkeyless one.
Then the next thing I'll be getting is the VT-4 and charging dock...
Even if you somehow manage to create space, more things end up piling up, and you end up having to deal with it in an ad hoc manner!

That's the reason this time too.
I want to secure space without compromising sound quality.
I found it while wandering around Yodobashi Camera, wondering if such a convenient item existed.
Best match!

- Compact and can be placed under the monitor
The sound quality is good enough. In fact, it seems to be better than before.
・Affordable and good value for money
・It's rechargeable, so it's portable! (This is just a bonus.)

I end up buying it impulsively.

Anker Soundcore Motion B [Unboxing]

Let's start by unpacking the Anker Soundcore Motion B.
Let's start with the outer box.

The set includes the device, a manual, and a USB cable (for charging).
The USB cable is probably about 1m long.
If you need longer lengths you will need to purchase them separately.

Anker Soundcore Motion B [How to use]

The Anker Soundcore Motion B is designed for Bluetooth connectivity and portable use.
So it's basically battery powered.
First, charge it before use.

When you open the cover on the side of the speaker, you will find two terminals.
One is an AUX port for audio, and the other is a MicroUSB port for charging.
Charging is done by connecting the included cable, but a charging outlet plug is not included, so if you want to charge it from an outlet, you will need to prepare one separately.
It does not support fast charging, so a 5V 1A one should be fine.
I was able to confirm that it can be charged by connecting it to a PC, so if you don't mind the charging time, it's fine to connect it to a PC.
* Confirm that charging is possible via a USB hub.

Anker Soundcore Motion B [Bluetooth connection]

Since I have the chance, I'll try connecting it to my smartphone via Bluetooth before connecting it to my PC.
First, press and hold the power button to turn it on.

Press and hold the Bluetooth button and the blue light will flash, indicating that the device is ready to pair.
*It looks lit in the photo, but it is actually flashing.

Next, go to the Bluetooth settings screen on your smartphone.
*The way to access the settings screen varies depending on the smartphone, so please check.

Soundcore Motion B will be detected, so tap it.
Once connected, pairing is complete.

This allows you to adjust the volume on both the speaker and the smartphone.
*If the Bluetooth mark appears, it's OK!

Next, connect it to your PC.
As a prerequisite, your PC must support Bluetooth connections.
If you can connect your PC to the Anker Soundcore Motion B, you can try connecting it like this from the Windows Bluetooth settings.

You will then be able to select Soundcore Motion B stereo in your sound settings.
Simply select from the drop-down menu to complete the Bluetooth connection with your PC.

I tried listening to music with both my PC and smartphone connected via Bluetooth, and I was able to use it without any problems.
However, I noticed a slight audio delay when watching YouTube.
It's really just an error of a fraction of a second, but it can feel a bit strange in movies, games, live footage, etc.

Anker Soundcore Motion B [Wired connection]

Now that I've been able to connect via Bluetooth, I'd like to try a wired connection next.
An audio cable for wired connection is sold separately, so be sure to prepare one in advance.
I purchased a JVC 50cm stereo mini plug.

If you are concerned about sound quality, you may want to consider purchasing a slightly more expensive cable, but even if you use a high-end cable with speakers that cost around 5000 yen, you will not be able to get the best sound quality from the speakers themselves.
I think a cable that costs around 1000 yen should be fine.
Now that you have the cable ready, plug one end into the audio jack under the speaker cover and the other end into the output jack on your PC (usually with a headphone mark) and you're done.

In the case of a wired connection, the volume must be set only on the PC side.
Be careful, the volume buttons on the speaker itself cannot be used!

Anker Soundcore Motion B [Gaming Use]

It's been about a week since I purchased the Anker Soundcore Motion B.
When I first bought it, I used it with the equalizer set to flat, but the high tones felt very piercing to my ears.
I mainly use it for fighting games, but the hit sounds are quite harsh on the ears, making it quite difficult to play for long periods of time.
First, simply boost the bass and continue playing.
It's still not something I can hear, but it's a little better.
Now I turn off the bass boost and play the game with the bass level flat.
It also seems a bit out of place with today's games that are recorded in surround sound.
However, since human voices are easy to hear, wouldn't they be suitable for fully voiced games?

However, if you want a more immersive experience or a stereo feel, it would be better to use something with separate left and right speakers rather than the Anker Soundcore Motion B.
I can't recommend this to people who mainly play FPS games against other people. Positioning is hard to understand.

However, this would be a good purchase for anyone who has been using speakers in the 1000 yen range.
It can be connected wired or wirelessly, is portable and can be used outdoors, costs around 5000 yen, and is waterproof.
With these specs and this price, it would be a great choice for a second speaker.

Anker Soundcore Motion B [Overall Review]
Sound quality: ★★★☆☆
It's neither good nor bad
High pitch: ★★★★☆
It stings at first, but gradually gets better
Middle tone: ★★★☆☆
Average. Not bad.
Bass: ★★☆☆☆
I don't feel like it's coming out much (it is coming out)
Everyday use: ★★★★☆
It doesn't take up much space and is easy to use
For games: ★★★☆☆
Not bad. Don't expect a sense of realism or positioning.
Overall rating: ★★★☆☆
If it's the first one, it's fine. If it's the second one, it depends on the speakers you have.
For portable use, it's about 4 stars.

I would like to use the Anker Soundcore Motion B for carrying around or in the car.
My next choice is...YAMAHA, BOSE, or JBL...
I would like to choose speakers solely for gaming purposes.
