Introducing recommended games for the Steam Summer Sale 2024
It's summer sale season again this year!
Due to leaks and other factors, sale information is now officially announced.
That said, with so many new products coming out every year, it can be hard to know what to buy.
So, this year we'll be introducing some of Akihabara Base Camp's recommended games!
Use this as a reference to survive the summer sales.
Street Fighter 6 (Fighting)

A new character, Vega, was added on June 26th, making this one of the most popular titles right now.
A variety of streamers and VTubers are joining the game one after another, and it feels like the player population is at an all-time high.
The season is now in its second year, and the number of characters has increased to 23.

Additionally, collaboration characters from other companies are scheduled to be added this season, and many people are eagerly awaiting their arrival.
It has become a main title in both the current e-sports scene and the fighting game scene, and it looks like it will continue to reach its peak for some time to come.

It's been a year since its release and there have been many sales, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much it will be discounted in this summer sale.
If you wish to use additional characters, you will need to purchase a character license or season pass.

I expect the first year's pass will also be discounted, so the only thing left to do is decide whether or not to purchase Season Pass 2.
By the way, the additional characters for the second year are as follows.

Wedding Witch (Vansabalike)

With the release of Vansava, various clone games have appeared.
Each title has its own unique features while still retaining the fun of Vansaba by incorporating unique elements.
This Wedding Witch is one of them.
Although it is a stage-clearing type game, it also incorporates roguelike growth elements.

Rather than going into detail about the system like this, this is more important for those who are interested in this title.
The playable character (heroine) is super cute.
That's all.
You can play the game by making the heroine grow (and sometimes regress) to suit your preferences.

So, what can we grow? That's the question...
It means exactly what the status means.
By drinking the potions you acquire, the heroine's body will change.
There are various changes, such as getting bigger, getting smaller, or growing a tail.

Depending on the changes in your body, you will be able to specialize in certain skills and unlock new ones, so it can be difficult to decide whether to choose potions that suit your preferences or ones that will help you progress through the game.

Can small breasts really be called growth?
So, create your ideal bride with your own hands!
*Please note that this is not R18!

Fight'N Rage (Belt Scroll)

If you want to enjoy some good old-fashioned belt scrolling, this is it!
Fight'N Rage offers a retro feel while still allowing you to enjoy modern belt-scrolling.
There are three characters you can use, but for the guys reading this, that's essentially the only choice.

There are essentially three actions you can use.
Attacks, jumps, and special actions.
This is where special actions like double jumps and throws from grabs come into play.

It's common knowledge in belt-scrolling games that using invincible moves or omnidirectional attacks will reduce your health, but in Fight'N Rage you can offset this by managing your gauge.
This is a system in which gauge management is also important.

Another distinctive feature is how cute the characters are.
Not all characters are like this, but the graphics of the female characters, including the enemy characters, are amazing.
The fact that it's pixel art makes it look 10 times cuter.

There are many enemy characters such as The Mob, but I think it's worth buying just for the pixel art of the player characters.
Give me your money! Meon-chan!! (Simulation)

Do you sometimes want to play a game that doesn't require you to understand complex systems?
The fun of a game is not directly related to the complexity of the system.
Games that allow you to understand the rules just by looking and play intuitively are also appealing.

You can tell just by looking at the game screen, right?
It's classified as a simulation genre, but it's a little unclear what kind of simulation it is.
This is a comedy.

Give Onnaen-chan what she wants within your budget!
You need to earn the mood meter, but giving them weird things won't raise it!
It would be nice to send something expensive, but I can't go over budget and go bankrupt...
That's the kind of game it is.

Of course, if you send something strange, it will be rejected!
There are also missions set for each stage, so be sure to keep them in mind as you play.

Tekken 8 (Fighting)

If Street Fighter 6 is the top 2D fighting game, then Tekken 8 can be said to be the top 3D game.
This is one title we hope to see discounted during this summer sale.
Although it is still in its first year, additional characters have been announced and things are likely to get even more exciting in the future.
Tekken boasts some of the best graphics of any 3D fighting game.
The level of beauty has also been significantly improved in this work.

The story is also solid and powerful, making full use of the power of next-generation graphics.
Of course, the battles unfold with graphics that are comparable to the CG in the story.
As the minimum level of machine power has risen, I feel nostalgic for the old days when machines were more powerful.
Additionally, various characters have appeared with each successive series, and new characters have been added to this installment as well.

The system has also been brushed up, and it seems to have been adjusted so that many people can enjoy it while still retaining the Tekken feel.
In particular, the offensive system has been strengthened, so it's more fun and refreshing to attack aggressively rather than fighting while defending.
That being said, new releases tend to be met with mixed reviews, and you'll likely see a variety of opinions on social media, but as a game it's still a lot of fun, so if you like 3D fighting games then this is a must-buy.
Witch Puzzle Rhythm (Puzzle)
Don't say, "Another witch!"

No matter what, the witch attribute is very popular both in Japan and overseas.
Another feature of pixel art is that it can create a unique atmosphere that cannot be achieved with CG.
This Witch Puzzle Rhythm uses pixel art, but the rules are simple and anyone can enjoy it.

The amount of fabric may seem a little small, but there's no age limit, so moms will be happy too.
The rules are simple.
By clicking along the line that moves in rhythm, a smiling box will fall.
By lining them up in a horizontal row, the boxes will disappear and you can send a nuisance box into the opponent's area.

Repeat this process until you have completely depleted your opponent's life points and you win.
When the box reaches the top of the area, one life will be removed!
For some reason, you lose clothes every time you lose a life, but it's for all ages so it's not a problem!

By the way, the reason for this rule is that the story is about some kind of curse that gives the player a strong urge to take off the other person's clothes, so they have to rip off the cursed clothes.
Maybe an erotic game...?

Crypt of the NecroDancer (rhythm game)

This is the game to play now!
After all, Hatsune Miku has been added as a DLC character!

Miku is a rather unique character, so even those who have already completed Crypt of the NecroDancer will be able to play this game with a fresh perspective.
The main feature of moving characters in time with the rhythm and using that to attack remains the same, but various new elements have been added.
First of all, the weapons are fixed to be green onions and a microphone.
Negi has the unique ability to move through enemies when attacking.
The microphone is a bomb-like area attack.

By connecting combos, you can increase your microphone stock, so you'll need to manage your resources as you progress through the game.
You can also move diagonally, so even if you've played Crypt of the NecroDancer extensively, it may be a bit hectic until you get used to it.
By the way, when you use Miku, Miku's music will play.
It can also be used as a skin for other characters.
Or Hatsune Miku wielding a morning star as a combination move...

Mushihime-sama (shooting)

Want to play a bullet hell shooter?
Yes, there is! Mushihime-sama!
This title was released in the early 2000s, when shooting games, especially bullet hell games, were all the rage.
It seems to be a title born in an era when 2D and 3D were mixed, so it has a somewhat nostalgic feel to it.
*It was made 20 years ago, so it's nostalgic if you like.

Although it is a single title, there are several game modes that can be combined to enjoy repeated play.

Shooting games are generally played in portrait mode.
Shooters are known for using monitors that can be repositioned vertically.
It may be a little small for playing on a 16:9 landscape screen, but if you want to play seriously, you may want to consider purchasing a portrait-compatible monitor.

Since it's a bullet hell shooter, enemy attacks are intense from the very beginning.
However, if the difficulty level is lowered, I think even people who aren't good at shooting games will be able to complete the game.

Considering the time of its release, the production may be a little old, but it is a masterpiece that will likely never be released again.
As the name Mushihime suggests, the game is based on insects, so those who don't like insects may find it a bit difficult to play.
Even with that in mind, it's still a fun old-style, unique shooting game.
LOST EPIC (Action RPG)

This time, we have selected recommended games that feature as many cute characters as possible.
Among them, LOST EPIC has the most attractive character design.
Character creation involves choosing from a selection of pre-prepared appearances, with several different looks to choose from for both men and women.
However, the characters available all have a modern, cute and cool appearance.

The basic controls are attack, jump, skill, dodge, and parry (Shinogi counter).
The goal is to clear the stage by combining these.
There is also a back attack system, so the theory is to identify and avoid enemy attacks while attacking from behind.

While it is possible to attack head-on, the key to victory is mastering evasion and parrying.
We are creating a Metroidvania-style stage, but it is more simplified and does not have a complex map structure.
Although it is sometimes described as a Souls-like, it is not that difficult and is a great introduction to Metroidvania and Souls-like games.

It is also scheduled to be released on Switch and PS5, so I'm debating whether to buy it during this sale, but it's a popular game that has been ported and has received high praise, so I would like to play it if I can right away.
Just make sure you listen to the sound effect when a parry is successful!
