This is especially true in Akihabara, where anime otaku culture is thriving.
So I decided to find out how many official characters there are at this Akihabara store.

She has an older sister and a younger sister named "Runrun" (older sister) and "Rinrin" (younger sister), so "Ranran" is the middle child of three sisters.

Other characters include Renren, who calls himself Ranran's eternal rival, and the male characters Ron and Wang.

Melon Books ~Characters named after fruits~

The most memorable character from Melon Books is probably Melon.
The other characters also had fruit names such as "Lemon," "Apple," and "Marron."
Huh?! Wait a minute... "Marron" means chestnut, right?
I wondered, "Are chestnuts a fruit?" so I looked into it.
After some research, I found out that chestnuts are "biologically classified as a fruit and food-wise as a vegetable."
Therefore, it is not wrong to call "marron" a fruit.

Tsukumo - Akihabara's Moe Character Ranking -

Despite her adorable appearance, Tsukumotan can also be a bit of a sharp-tongued character.
I learned for the first time that Yamada Denki's official character, Rabitan, has an older sister.

And "Tsukumotan" said,A Moe character contest I saw in Akihabara" has been ranked number one for 10 consecutive years since 2009.
There is a high possibility that it will take first place in 2019 as well!

His name is Tori.

Additionally, to coincide with anime events, you can often see illustrations of Tori collaborating with various anime works, such as "How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend" and "Pop Team Epic," displayed at Atre Akihabara.
In addition to Atre Akihabara, Atre Kameido also has an official turtle-themed character called "Kamere-chan."

A character that personifies Bic Camera AKIBA, born on June 22, 2017.
Wearing a Bic Camera happi coat and a head dress that resembles cat ears,

There are other characters besides "Akiba-tan" that are personifications of Bic Camera.
The personification of Bic Camera apparently started when someone posted, "I want to do something on Twitter at the Mito Station store."
First, "Mito-tan," an anthropomorphized version of the Mito Station store, was born, and the Bic Camera anthropomorphization project began.
Currently, the personified characters are active in 34 stores nationwide, including AKIBA.

I also spotted Sofmap's mascot character, Mapuko.
This Mapuko is the 11th generation and was drawn by illustrator "Maroya Kaya Sensei."
