Takara Tomy's 73rd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders was held on June 26, 2024.
This company has a strong synergy with Akihabara, and they announced a new hobby brand for older people at the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show. I attended the general meeting, so I'll report on it!

Takara Tomy's General Shareholders Meeting Report and Question Time

The business report was presented using slides as well as promotional videos.
Perhaps this was a preparation for the general meeting, which will be made available on demand for shareholders on the Internet at a later date.

After the presentation of the reports and resolutions, there was a question time.

I will introduce questions about hobbies and content based on my notes regarding the reports, but please note that as I was not able to record the information, it may not be accurate. I hope you will take it as a general idea of what it was like.

Thank you for making a new KING OF PRISM movie. I bought Takatomi stock because of King & Prince. If this movie does well at the box office, maybe they'll make a sequel.

→ The Pretty Series is going well. We are currently in discussions regarding a movie version as part of a joint venture. There is nothing we can announce here, but we are working on it positively, so please look forward to it.

Several old Transformers anime titles are available on YouTube, but are there plans to stream other anime (other than TF)? If they do, wouldn't that strengthen the IP?

→ Many of our past works are from 20 to 30 years ago or even older, and it takes time to adjust the rights with the companies that invested in them at the time. Over the past year or so, we have tried streaming and terrestrial broadcasting for some of our works. We have also made progress in sorting out the rights for some of our works. We would like to continue making adjustments so that we can meet expectations.

How about creating a theme park or museum using IPs such as Tomica, Plarail, and Licca-chan? Something like Mario at Universal Studios Japan.

→There is a museum called Licca-chan Castle in Fukushima that dates back to the Takara era. It may be a little difficult to access, but people from China and other countries come here via Ibaraki and other areas. Disney Tomica cars are sold at Disneyland, and Universal Studios Japan has a Transformers parade. We would like to actively pursue other content where we can find partnerships. We also hold events such as Tomica Expo and Plarail Expo, so we would like to meet customer needs by expanding nationwide.

PriMag Studio's songs have not yet been released as audio recordings, but are there any plans to release them online or on CD?

→Avex Pictures is in charge of the music for the Pretty Series, so I would be happy to discuss it with them and give it a positive consideration.

Shareholder discounts can no longer be used at Tech Station and discounts on Takatomi Mall exclusive items have become less frequent, but is the company's plan to reduce benefits and increase dividends?

→ The benefits are mainly for individual shareholders, but there are currently no plans to abolish them. In fact, the number of shares required for benefits is being reduced.

There are some Tomica campaigns where you enter by sending in a barcode, but as a collector, it's hard to cut the box with scissors. I wish there was a way to do it that wouldn't damage the product.

→ Previously, we ran campaigns such as entries using receipts, but it was difficult to determine whether the item had actually been purchased. However, even with a barcode, it is not possible to determine whether the item was purchased during the campaign period. This is a constant challenge. We would like to consider what we can do by utilizing digital technology and reflect this.

There were also multiple questions from content fans.

Many questions were asked by people who regularly purchase the product, such as about shareholder discounts and campaigns.
There won't be too many people to ask questions, so if you're a fan of any of the content, why not join in?
