Tokyo Game Show 2022 Schedule [Makuhari Messe]

The 2022 Tokyo Game Show (hereinafter referred to as TGS2022) will be held at Makuhari Messe from September 15th to September 18th.

The nearest station is Kaihin Makuhari Station, which is a familiar place to many people.

This time, the venue will be divided into three areas, with various companies setting up booths.
*Maps will be available at the venue and pamphlets will also be distributed.

[TGS2022] Tokyo Game Show 2022 admission

This time I entered as a member of the press, so I think the entry method is different from general admission.
You'll be able to wander around the venue more calmly and leisurely than with general admission, so it might be a good idea to start a gaming blog or channel now and aim to get into PRESS next year?
*PRESS admission will be subject to screening.
Once you've checked in and received your pass, head to TGS2022!

[TGS2022] Tokyo Game Show 2022

SEGA and ATLAS booth [Persona 5R, Yakuza Ishin Kiwami, etc.]

First, we went to the SEGA ATLAS booth.

Here you can get a huge Persona paper bag.
It's large enough to fit all the various goods you receive at TGS2022, so it's a good idea to pick it up first.

On the ATLAS side, statues of the main characters' initial personas from Persona 3 to 5 are enshrined. It's a great photo spot.

On the SEGA side is a giant balloon doll of Sonic.

There are plenty of things that look great in photos, such as pop art for Yakuza Ishin and Kiwami.

At this booth, you can try out games such as Persona 5R, Sonic Frontier, and Virtua Fighter e-sports.

Bandai Namco Booth [Dragon Ball, One Piece, etc.]

The Bandai Namco booth mainly featured titles aimed at kids and young people.

There are a number of strong IPs such as Doraemon Story of Seasons, the Lego series, and Ultraman.

Dragon Ball The Breakers is an asymmetrical action game in which you play as an ordinary character and fight powerful enemies from the Dragon Ball series.

One Piece is also a very strong IP.

There's even a huge message from Eiichiro Oda! This is a great photo spot.

The titles mentioned above are available for trial play.
Dragon Ball and One Piece are quite popular, so it's best to head over early to try them out.

Square Enix Booth [FORSPOKEN, FF7CCR, etc.]

The Square Enix booth was extremely popular even on press day.

FORSPOKEN is a timed PS5 exclusive title.
The costumes used in the game are on display.

FF7CC Reunion had a line forming in seconds, with wait times of up to 90 minutes.

Also available is the Romancing SaGa MS remaster, which was hugely popular on PS2!
The original is an amazing game, so just shortening the loading times will make it an even more amazing game!

The Square Enix booth has a lot of highly anticipated titles, so if you want to try them out, we recommend going first thing in the morning.

Koei Tecmo [Wo Long, Atelier Ryza, etc.]

Koei Tecmo is famous for the 1/1 scale Ryza.

Of course, it's available this time too. And all the Ryzas up to 3 are available!!

Which Liza do you like best? I like 2 the best!

In addition, there is a large display of Lu Bu and Red Hare from Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

As it's a death-defying game about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, expectations are high even amongst players at Co-op, which specializes in historical stories.
The Co-Tech booth also had a number of demo stations prepared, but there was a long line, so if you're interested, head there early.

CAPCOM [Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil Village, etc.]

The demo machines were sold out in seconds.

You can try out Resident Evil, Mega Man Battle Network, Street Fighter 6, and Monster Hunter Rise.
Seriously, it was like this: "Opening → Walking around slowly while looking around → Capcom booth → Waiting for a cancellation to play the demo."
I was really surprised because it was like this.

Please be really careful.
In particular, only those who have tried out Rise can take photos of the life-size Palico Garuga (although you can take photos from a distance even if you haven't tried it out), so if you're looking to see the Garuga, make sure you act early!
I took the photo from a distance, zoomed in.

BLACK SHARK [Ultra-high performance gaming smartphone]

This is the gaming smartphone booth.

You can try out the BLACK SHAR, a smartphone specialized for gaming, which has become available in a wide variety of types recently.

I love these kinds of things.
Specializing in something and creating additional accessories to offset the disadvantages...it's the epitome of romance.
A large fan system can be detached to thoroughly cool the main unit.

This is a monster machine that can even run Genshin Impact, a famously heavy smartphone game, smoothly and easily.

City Connection [Suchipai]

Su-chi pie in the Reiwa era?!

I really feel relieved after using Sutchi Pai. Thank you very much.

WSS playground [NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE etc.]

NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE is now available on Switch!

"Was this okay to release?"
I heard that
"It's okay! We managed to get it released with a CERO rating of D!"
So you can play with peace of mind.

Let's all go and love this super cute angel.

SOLEIL [Wanted: Dead]

The exhibit features Wanted:Dead, a work that exudes a cyber feel while also incorporating American retro elements.

The exterior has a very cyberpunk feel, but once you go inside the diner is at the forefront, which gives it a strange feeling.
But that kind of worldview is nice.

Apparently the staff involved are people who worked on NINJA GAIDEN and DEAD OR ALIVE, so it makes sense that the game does have a NINJA GAIDEN feel to it.
The release date is February 14, 2023. Valentine's Day!?

TGS2022 and many other booths

There are many other booths exhibiting as well.
In the VR/AR section, there was a long queue for the Meta Quest exhibit. There was a lot of buzz about the Metaverse.

There will also be an exhibition of the much talked about Steam Deck.

The queue is enormous, but...

Although it wasn't a gaming exhibition, there were also exhibits from companies involved in various content productions.

This is a business-related exhibition, so it seems like it will be enjoyable in a different way than an exhibition that only features games.

TGS2022 is packed with games and other things

This was my first time participating in an offline game show in a long time.
It's exciting to be able to see the game being announced in person, and being able to try it out really gets you excited.
Additionally, you can see life-size figures that you normally wouldn't see, as well as special exhibits that are only available at game shows, which is something you can only see offline.
This time, there was probably a limit on the number of people allowed to try out the game to avoid overcrowding, so if there's a popular title you want to play as soon as possible, make sure to get your numbered ticket as early as possible!
Plan your schedule and test play accordingly!
