This water-based paint is sold by Games Workshop, the distributor of Warhammer, and is popular with many miniature fans for its wide range of colors and high quality.
If you want to paint WarhammerYou can't go wrong with Citadel colorsProbably!
This time, I used theBright Road TerminatorI'm going to paint it using Citadel colors!
There are also items that make painting more convenient, such as spray-specific fixing devices, but it would be expensive for a beginner to try to get all of them, so this time we won't be using them and will just paint with what is necessary!

If you want to enjoy the game, aim for the Battle Ready standard first.
For beginners, painting Warhammer is a good idea.Battle Ready"Let's make this the standard!
Battle-ready is a standard for how well a Warhammer miniature model is painted, and refers to the minimum paintwork being completed.
When participating in an official Warhammer game, it is often preferable to meet the criteria of being battle-ready.
Among the miniaturesDepending on the color, the performance in the game may change.Because,Make sure your opponent can see that it's painted that color.I'm saying that.
There don't seem to be any strict official standards, but from what I've heard from various people, it seems like as long as you meet the following three points, you'll be fine!
① There are no exposed parts of the original material (plastic, etc.) of the kit.
②It is painted in at least three colors
3) The miniature base is decorated.
This time, we're aiming to create a battle-ready miniature that meets the above criteria!
The Death Guard's "Bright Road Terminator" that I assembled last time started out looking like this:

Apply a primer coat with a surfacer spray
First, spray it on.
By spraying and applying a primer, the paint will adhere better and even small scratches will be hidden and invisible!
Furthermore, this time it is Citadel Color "Death Guard Green", which also happens to paint them green, which makes up the majority of the Death Guard, making it a great addition!!

Citadel color spraysStrong spray pressure makes it easy to spray evenlyIt has a good reputation!
As the injection pressure decreases,Intentionally avoid the beginning and end of the spray and spray only in the middle. It can be sprayed beautifully.
Shake well and spray from about 30cm away.

I sprayed it about 10 times while changing the direction, and it turned out like this!
As for where to spray, I spray it in my bathroom at home with the exhaust fan turned up to maximum.
If you're doing it outdoors,Choose a location carefully to avoid splashing paint on public or other people's property..
Painting with Citadel Colors is easier than you think
Now that the preparations are done, it's time to start painting!
One thing to keep in mind when painting is that your hands may shake when painting small areas with a brush.
In that case, as shown below,Hold your hands together or rest your arms on the desk.,Hold it so that there are as many contact points as possible. This will stabilize your hands and make it easier to perform detailed work!

Also, the order of application isStart from the deepest place possibleLet's paint it.
If you paint a protruding part incorrectly, it is easy to correct it later, but if you try to correct a recessed part, the brush may get in the way of areas you don't want it to touch.

First, paint the metallic parts with the three colors shown above.
From the left,LEADBELCHER(silver),RETRIBUTOR ARMOUR(gold),RUNELOAD BRAASS(Copper-like color)!
I focused on painting the iron-like parts of the armor and the weapons.

This alone made it feel pretty good.

Next, paint the areas you want to color with a color other than metallic.
From the left
MEPHSTON RED(such as the cloak part)
KANTOR BLUE(Looks like an insect's leg)
BUGMAN'S GLOW(It looks like an internal organ)
STEEL LEGION DRAB と CORAX WHITE Mix the above in a 1:1 ratio (bones and horn-like parts)
Let's paint it like this!

This completes the painting process.
nextSHADELet's paint it!
Citadel Colors come in several varieties depending on the application.
By the way, what I was painting until now wasBASEIt's a paint with strong hiding power!
The next paint we will apply is called SHADE.It has low hiding power, so you can tone down the overall tone while still letting the color underneath show through. It's paint!
Furthermore, because it has low viscosity, it tends to accumulate in recesses.Natural shading can also be applied.
Citadel Color paints areIf you color code with BASE and then paint with SHADE to add shading, it will look great. Here you go!

This timeAGRAX EARTHSHADEI'll use that paint.
It's easy to apply!
It's a watery paint,Just apply it to the whole area, being careful not to let the brush soak in too much.!

It suddenly looked great!!
All that's left to do is add some simple decorations to the miniature base and it's complete!
For decoration,TECHNICALI'll use that type of paint.
TECHNICAL paints are paints that can easily create a variety of effects and finishes!

For example, we will useSTIRLAND MUDThe paint is,You can create a muddy surface just by applying it..
Other TECHNICAL paints include various types that can easily create blood stains and snow!

It has a rough finish and looks like muddy ground!
It will also look better if you paint the edges of the base.
The edge partABADDON BLACKIt is painted with.
Even beginners can achieve a cool finish with Citadel Color paint.
What do you think?
I had no experience painting miniatures before I started playing Warhammer, but I think I was able to paint them really cool.
Even if you think it's too difficult, give it a try and you might find it works out better than you expected!
Finally, I'll finish by posting the finished miniature!
